Hello po. In this part of the Gospels, the Lord Jesus spoke in general terms po. But the Scriptures as whole speaks of the reality you mentioned. Hence we have verses like these:
Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me. - Psalm 27:10
"Can a woman forget her nursing child, or lack compassion for the son of her womb? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! - Isaiah 49:15
Jesus expects us, sinners as we are to be kind to our children. Kaya you can present this teaching to encourage that person to be better than his father.
