I'm guessing these packs of two are super important for the wolf dogs' well-being. In any case, I'm quite touched to see them.
I've always tried to have more than one pup at a time because I think they need each other, but this is especially strong with the animals at your wonderful sanctuary.
Thank you for taking care of them and for honoring their unique qualities.🐾💙🌎

Yes! In the case of this pack, we rescued ten new wolfdogs that had all previously been housed separately. Because they hadn't grown up with a pack, we had to play the role of match-maker to make sure they were all paired up with another animal. Wolfdogs, like wolves, are pack animals and they require another wolfdog in their enclosure. However, if you introduce too many wolfdogs to each other at once, that can result in conflict and fighting between the individuals. When pairing up single wolfdogs together, we follow a structure similarity seen in wild wolf packs. When a wolf reaches maturity, they often leave their parent's pack in search of a mate and new territory. By pairing up a male wolfdog with a female wolfdog, we aren't typically going to see conflict between the two individuals. At first, they seem a little hesitant with each other, but over time they bond together. It's the best way to keep the peace and make sure every wolfdogs has a packmate!
