    Sub'd. That was hilarious with the inclusion of the outtakes. I didn't know anyone cussed more than I do. lol Also, of all the Honda CR-V brake vids on YT, you're the first one I've see who installed the inner pad on the correct side, with the wear sensor at the bottom, as the factory builds them. You mention the pins being the same, and one having the rubber sleeve at the end. What I've seen is that the upper pin (as shown in your video) is always the pin that has the flat sides, and the lower pin is always round. Only the lower pin on the front calipers has the rubber sleeve. Great work as a mechanic. It takes a ton of skill to be working on old rusted sh!t every day.

      I followed your instructions now I'm noticing some grinding noises coming from where the brake drum fits into the backer plate. After a short drive it got quite hot. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this? I read that you could tap the back with wood.

      Hey my friend. Most likely your new rotor assembly has a lot more material than your old one is coming into contact with your backing plate. If you adjusted the rear shoes that could also be causing the heat if you're feeling a bit of sticking from the brakes. However the backing plate especially in the rust belt can be a common issue. What I suggest is taking the the main calliper off and making sure that you use some Lugnuts to secure the rotor to the hub and see how it rotates. If it doesn't rotate then you know your issue is friction either with the parking brakes or the rotors coming into contact with the backing plate. Most likely it's probably the backing plate that you're coming into contact it if you haven't cut the emergency brakes. I hope this helps. Let me know what you find and please have a look at the video again or something off my other Subaru brake videos and some of them I do explain this issue with the back in bed. However it's never caused binding or an extreme amount of heat. Good luck my friend.

      @@JimmysAutoClinic thanks Jimmy!!! I think it's the backing plate BC I loosed up the parking brake all the way and then applied the parking brake and it rotated. But I'm still getting the grinding noise. Do you have suggestions on how to deal with this problem other than replacing the backing plate. Ty so much.

      I found that one area of the backer plate was rubbing against the rotor. It had flattened out on small part. I grinded it down and tapped it with a hammer and wood. I had to do it a couple times but seems to have done the trick. Thanks again for the video.

      Yes it is a bit of a common problem on certain designs. If I can't replace it because I can't get the part or time or whatever the situation is. I will take an air hammer with a chisel bit and try to get rid of as much rust behind the backing plate as possible or that builds up between the pinch wheels that causes it to touch the rotor. That's really the only thing that you can do as a last resort I will cut out whatever section is touching if it is not a structural portion. So what I'm talking about is the heat shield portion that's used to protect the rotor. But ideally if you have time and it's not driving you up the wall I would suggest getting a new one it is not the easiest thing to replace but that's the best thing to do.
