Why would they even leave port with 50% power? I'm surprised the Coast Guard would let that happen.
Carnival doesn’t want to loose money. That ship is the nightmare ship all over TikTok!

The ships have 2 engines one of them is having issues. The Vista class ships have all had issues with propulsion. The ships are still safe just can't go as far in a short time.

As I've "matured" when I decide to cruise I select other cruise lines because of Carnival's party reputation. My very first cruise was in 1980 on the Carnival ship "Carnivale". It was a party for sure! 🎉🥳💃🍹🍹🍹
That same ship is docked right now. They canceled the next cruise after Will and Dawn's to be repaired. But it's always had problems.

They're handling it great and they're going to manage to have fun and make the most of it. But Carnival doesn't get a pass. $200 a passenger is nothing. Carnival is saving way more than that in this short cruise. They're not traveling no where near as far as the original itinerary. Way less gas, or whatever they use.
It's all about the experience, good or bad.

@@tscat68 I’ve been on carnival twice out of Long Beach. 3 am fights on the hallway happened, and a beach chair border was loosing his.

We always unpack especially on a 6 or 7 day cruise. Also it gives you more room in your cabin because your luggage fits under the beds perfectly.

lol, this happens to all cruises!! As a matter of fact our last cruise with Royal Caribbean had issues and we waited just like this for over 4 hours!! And we didn’t even get any credit, no sorry, no free bottle of water, NOTHING!! Things happen to every single brand….
At the moment, our goal is to cruise on every single cruise line. And this time, it was carnival's turn.

I don’t want to go on any cruise! But I enjoy watching this I might consider an Alaskan cruise one day, but that is probably not going to happen since I’m done flying since early 2000s.

Been on 20 carnival cruises, never had an embarkation day that bad. Have four booked in the near future, love carnival. Always have one phone in group for QR code scanning. Cruising is what you make it.
The he Disney cruises are great! Their employees are nice and do their job!!!!
WOW!! What a day you all had, I could have never stood in line for 3 hours in 90 degree weather waiting to board the ship, also the room is so small for 3 people and the food looked ok?? Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day!! ENJOY and Safe Travels

You all were very patient. I saw nothing that would make me ever want to cruise with Carnival.
No! No! Absolutely no way am I going to go on another cruise with that kind of crowd. I mentioned before that I went on a cruise with my daughter back in 2010 with Carnival Cruise, which was relatively pleasant. No real complaints to speak of. But with these newer and larger ships, there is just no way that I’m going to get myself immersed into these huge crowds of humanity. I have enough problems going to Costco or even the grocery store with people banging around and standing in the middle and creating all kinds of havoc. I think this comes with my old age and my senior mentality. and of course, in your particular case here having to wait for three hours to get on board. You have the patience of a saint! I couldn’t have done it quite frankly. And of course, flying is another issue for me. Crowded airport and now air Canada pilots are threatening to strike this week for goodness knows how long. So again the delays and the long lines and the crowds of people. … just let me drive to wherever I want to go and if I can’t drive, I don’t go. Anyway, I’m looking forward to your videos on your cruise and hopefully it will improve dramatically for you.
I’m beginning to feel like a killjoy! But I’m gonna be brutally honest with my thoughts as you continue through your cruise as they would apply to me. The food looked pretty decent from what I could see. As far as the lounge area was concerned and the entertainment , I think I would’ve walked out because I was not impressed one bit. And in my particular case, the arcades, the casinos, and the alcohol lounges would be of absolutely no interest to me whatsoever. And finally the souvenir shops? I’m guessing if you would’ve looked on the bottom you would’ve saw made in China on most of the items. All the candy items are just junk. It’s not what I would go on a cruise for. It’ll be one frosty day, based on what I’ve seen so far that I ever go on a cruise again. Maybe an adult cruise that would be themed … like going to the Antarctica or perhaps the Mediterranean Sea. Or an Arctic Cruise. But no, no definitely not for me.

My family and I took a carnival cruise. We weren't pleased at all with the ship, it was old. The food was good, staff was polite, however we decided we would choose another cruise line going forward.

The cruise we went on, we found a nice hotel that we could leave our vehicle at the hotel during our cruise with no extra charge and they shuttled us to and from the port. That was nice.
Always try to get the earliest boarding. We had 1100-1130 boarding on the Mardi Gras and went on right away.
I just got off the Carnival Celebration ... good cruise. To be honest, I only took the cruise to do the BOLT roller coaster. It was quick but super fun. Highly recommend.

Hi, Will and Dawn we were so surprised to see you on that ship the first night. What a crazy day it was. We saw ourselves in the line as you left the drop off area. As we told you that was just a crazy thing. Only happened to us 1 other time. (MSC) You both are just as nice as we thought from you video's. Can't wait to see your vlogs and the final thoughts. Don't spoil it yet we will wait and see on here just like everyone else. Keep on cruising (any line we like them all)

Me and my dad and my longtime best friend are going on the November 2 carnival vista cruise. This will be me and my dad’s second ever cruise and my best friend’s first cruise. We heard that they did fix their propulsion issue.

Well, that was a crazy embarkment! Once on the ship I'm sure the tension went down until you saw the damage luggage! Steak and ice cream, wow, elastic waistband 🤣 have lots of fun!

I have been on 8 carnival cruises and never experienced anything like what you have, sorry to hear that. Hopefully will get better fir you😊
The last cruise I went on, September 2023 to Alaska from Vancouver, had us wait in line 5 hours before we could board. Most of that time was spent clearing US customs. They were running the passengers from three cruise ships through at the same time! What were they thinking?!

I just got back from Alaska on Carnival Luminoso. I have to agree about the food. It was “lousy” in the dining room. Breakfast was good there but dinner was not. I loved Alaska so much and would love to go back but not on Carnival. This was my 4th cruise on carnival but Holland America is the very best we have been on. Give them a try.

With the safe, it tells you on the front to set up a 4 digit code. That will lock and unlock it for you. Never had any problems on the Mardi Gras. I don't think I can go back to a smaller ship. Also, you can order as many appetizers as you want and up to 2 entrees. 3rd entree is a $5 charge. You can also order as many desserts as you want.
I never had that problem boarding Carnival. But we were at Charleston Port. Have fun

Sorry for yalls delay on boarding. Ive been on 4 carnival cruises and never had a problem! But we were always in line before 11:00. I bet the issue is because of the change of destination. One time one of the cruises i was on had to re-route do to a hurricane. All the other cruise lines had to do the same and it was crazy.

Oh I’m so sorry it has problems. We are cruising next month and our ship has had the same issues
For what it’s worth we have been on 50+ cruises and our favorite is Celebrity, especially the Edge class ships followed by Royal Caribbean, Princess and Cunard. Our least favorite are MSC and Carnival.

Was on the Vista the end of April and it was by far the worst cruise we’ve been on. The food was OK, the shows were horrible and the ship broke down in Puerto Rico. Thankfully we were in port. The cruise director when we were on, his name was Marty. He was awesome.
If I am not mistaken that is one of the ships I been on and it jerked the whole time we was on it
Those lines reminded me of recent NCL (never again)Greek cruise out of Barcelona. Never had it like that with any Celebrity cruise. So sorry for change of itinerary, you’re just taking it in stride that’s great. Like previous people have commented why would they even sail with 50% power? Hi Guys! Thanks for sharing your trip! Sorry about your cruise being rerouted due to propulsion issues again with the Vista. Last year we were supposed to go out of Long Beach, Ca. on the sister ship of the Vista, the Panorama but it was cancelled two days before we were supposed to go due to the same issues you are having. Ten days from now we are going on the Carnival Firenze out of Long Beach and this cruise was free for us due to that cancellation last year( except port fees and taxes). That class of Carnival Ship( the Vista Class) is known for its propulsion issues. The Firenze is an italian themed ship so that should be interesting. I can totally see why you are dissapointed about not going to those original ports you had scheduled but at least you still get to cruise. After we got off, it was going to dry dock to have its propulsion system worked on, so hopefully, it will be fixed by the time you arrive. Have a great cruise.
