The people with journals tracking the show is a reference to how the Nielsen ratings work. They were commenting on how arcane the way ratings are tracked was and how it incorrectly estimated the true popularity of Community.
Yes, Community's lifespan was pretty fascinating, it was a time when Twitter was just rising and setting the standard of what people were watching, but it was still regarded as "new media" and not important enough.
I think you mean archaic, not arcane, but yes. To be honest, they were basically just random magic numbers, I suppose.
back in 2009 my entire friend group was watching community but from the uk with no legal means so despite loving it and promoting it to our buddies none of our views counted. Show was popular if streaming was around sooner the higher ups would of known that and we may of gotten the whole show by Dan Harmon and no breaks
I'm glad someone mentioned this. Hopefully they read this comment and get what they were referring to
Now there's a box attached to the tv that tracks what people watch. Each person has a button on the remote so when you're watching you "log in" so they know who's watching what.
Jeff hugging Abed goodbye then hugging him again immediately after always gets me
Getting teary just thinking about it.
I love that scene. Abed knows you hug people when you say goodbye, it’s a classic trope of media, and it’s performative. But people don’t give a second hug in movies. By doing that he’s signaling to Abed that this isn’t just formulaic, he actually loves and will miss him. He breaks the trope and signals to his friend how much he cares about him.
@@ouoouo6362 i always read it as jeff hugging him once goodbye and then hugging him for starting the study group and changing his life
Yeah I think this is one of the first reactions that it’s not in.
I think their dynamic is pretty close, but usually understated: Jeff understood every single reference Abed ever made.
They did the pierce polygraph episode over zoom during Covid with Pedro Pascal should definitely give that a watch. Not as important is that there is a The Film Theorists video on the Ass Crack Bandit with pretty in-depth analysis of the show and some cool BTS stuff. Both would be awesome reactions.
These would be great to see
Yeah, that Table Read was so classic. One of the good things during COVID.
100% agree, that table read was so damn good.
As a community college professor who teaches at the same school I attended (despite having also earned a 4-year degree and a Masters after my original time here), I can tell you that Jeff's worries are legit. Being in the same spot doesn't mean you're not accomplishing other things, living your life, growing as a person, and so on, but there's something surreal about watching people come and go, forming strong bonds with students/colleagues and then never seeing them again (or hearing years later about the great things they went on to do). But there's also a comfort to it and an incredible reward to the few that let you know you had an impact, especially once you allow yourself to settle in and become a staple of the place (which Jeff seems like he will eventually do, rather than retain the Planet Earth nonsense and the "just passing through" attitude).
It's been a fun couple of years, friends. Glad you went back and witnessed this gem. Seeya when the movie is out.
What! Can’t believe you cut the Jeff and Annie scene.
Really weirdly heartbroken to get here finally. But I'm very happy to have gone on this journey with you. Phenomenal show to this day. So excited for the movie!
I love how Eric was thumbing through his years worth of papers during the endtag with just a hint of misery due to it all being deconstructed in the most meta way lmao
Wouldn't feel that way if he understood the reference lol
Jeff hugging Abed twice makes me cry just about every time I see it
Season 1 pilot: "I see your value now."
Season 6 finale: two hugs.
why’d they cut it
@@iGaveLiaHIV idk man wish they hadn't
but could always watch their full uncut stuff
@@theraimetrain9918 nah not paying for extra reaction lol. community was one of the two shows left that they react to that i’ve seen always sunny is all that’s left lmao
Goddamn they cut the part where jeff & abed hugged twice?? That was one of the touching moments for me, the show started wituh abed & jeff, and now it ends with them
Love this finale! One of my favourite series finale ever. That final scene between Annie & Jeff is so well-written and acted. Kudos to Alison and Joel for that
Alison has some really subtle expression changes in that conversation that are really impressive
Well, final speaking scene. Because Jeff drops her off at the airport and kisses her goodbye in front of Abed. So I really want to know if that gets brought up in the movie.
They didn't show the Annie scene or Jeff hugging Abed? That's insane.
Fun fact: Alison Brie was instrumental in getting Donald Glover to meet Ludwig Goransson and the rest is history! She could've used Ludwig as a producer and her freestyle talents become a rap star herself lol
Imma Die By Werewolf wins a Grammy in a better timeline
@@c.decker3046What about Too Many Feet
Damn I remember seeing the bloopers with her freestyling it would've been so cool if he got her to feature in a Gambino song lol
@@c.decker3046 Too many feets wins in Darkest Timeline
“Emotional Consequences of Broadcast Television” is such a fitting title for this finale
I cared about the Jeff and Annie!! Loved their ending. It’s cool that you didn’t. I am hoping that there will be something between them in the movie. She’ll be much older and wiser and Jeff will still be hot and childish so I assume they’ll be perfect for each other at that point!
Just wanna say Danny Pudi in Mythic Quest is incredible, he does a great job of playing a new character and making you really see him as _that_ character and not just Abed.
“And it needs to be okay for it to get on a boat with Levar Burton and never come back. Because eventually, it all will.” 😢 always gets me
Per Allison Brie - the Community movie has a script completed, she said she has read it. Also Animal Control is a very fun show, love it!
*Alison
Eh happy someone else is a Animal Control fan! I see a lot of hate for it, I think it's pretty fun!
Filming starts this summer and hoping for a release either late 2025 or early 2026
When I saw you started watching Community I was ecstatic. Sad to see it end for a second time now
Watch The Normies reactions as well
"You stupid child..."
is horrifying asf
😂
The last joke is one of the best
6 season of set ups for the joke to land
I love the idea of them pitching their new season, this was nearly perfect
"Not created by God, but by a joke" might be my favorite joke from any sitcom ever. In a show loaded with brilliant tags, their last was the best.
@@snerdterguson I was so stunned the first time watching the final tag, I had to watch it again just to fully appreciate it. Absolutely brilliant. The best possible ending.
@@fakecubed I tell anyone who was suffering through s4, to suck it up, because there's a joke that if you watch all season will just hit different
Tracking journals was a Nielsen ratings joke.
It's funny how many reacters hear that now and have their minds blown "WHOA! Are they talking about ME????"
LOL
I cared about Jeff and Annie btw!
Rewatching the show with you guys has been a blast. It's my favorite show since 2013 and I remember every end of the season being on tumblr and seeing the renewals and cancellations by nbc and we were so scared EVERY year lol (we were a small fandom lol) by the time Yahoo picked it up for season 6 we all knew it was the last season.
Now let's hope that movie is releasing soon 🤞🏼
I cared about it and was really annoyed the relationship was held back after Dan came back, simply because it had too many uncomfortable undertones with Dan and the writer he harassed (megan). I love Dan but he can get petty and I feel like he did with S4.
Not gonna lie, Jeff and Annie was the reason I binged the show into the early morning when I first watched it back in 2019. At the time, it was possibly the most invested I'd ever been in a tv show ship (except maybe the Doctor and Rose in Doctor Who). I think the fact that I binged the show really helped to keep me invested in rooting for that relationship, so I can see why someone watching weekly like this might not be invested.
But also some people are just more likely to be drawn to and impacted by romantic relationships in movies and tv, and some people aren't really affected, and I've always been strongly one of the former.
@@peterlewis2178 true, but also I was a weekly viewer and that was MY ship lol, there's so much to love on Community and yet Jeff and Annie was one of my absolute favorite things.
@@paziis Yeah, like I said, some people just get affected more by that kind of thing. While the binging definitely helped with my investment, I probably would have still been quite invested if I'd been a weekly viewer.
Not many shows end on such a high. This is probably the funniest episode of the season. Can't wait for the movie.
I don't know about funniest, but it's really great. The tag is my favorite one from the whole series.
The reference to the journals in the disclaimer is a reference to the Neilson Rating System which had select viewers keep logs on their viewing habits and this is how shows were rated for many years. I think this is a really smart and funny last episode and completely in line with the series. Loved that they brought Shrilley back too. The actor who plays Abed actually did go to a show about the crew of a video game production company.
Can't believe no ones talking about how Aaron took that wing like a champ.
My only gripe with this episode was Britta not going with Jeff, Annie and Abed to the airport to also say goodbye to her friends as they left.
Agreed. Those 4 are the original group. Britta should've gone with Jeff and been there to comfort him
I'm a little sad they cut out the part where Jeff says goodbye to Abed. I tear up everytime
An excellent ending to an excellent show. I would really recommend reacting to the blooper reels as well. Alison Brie and Donald Glover are absolutely hilarious in them, and there are some freestyle raps you wouldn't want to miss
It's amazing that they really stuck the landing given how much turmoil this show went through.
End of the road. Thank you for all the amazing reactions.
Community is my favourite comedy show, so it has really been a joyful ride watching you guys experience all the moments and characters that I love. I'm for sure going to rewatch your reactions over and over again!
Thank you so much for reacting to this show… I can’t wait for the movie to get released!
More fun trivia for you: The giant mechanical spider thing you mentioned when talking about City College is kind of an industry writer joke. A producer, Jon Peters, apparently had a long time obsession with shoehorning a mechanical spider into a film. He tried to get every writer to add one into a superhero movie. The episode was a superhero comic themed one. Peters realized his dream in his role as the producer of Wild Wild West.
At last, you've graduated from Greendale -Computery- Community College. Since the movie isn't here yet, you can do what us Community fans took to calling the movie, and watch the bloopers compilation on UA-cam which is about feature movie length.
I totally forgot how gorgeous Original Annie is 😍😩 And I can't believe you edited the whole Jeff-Annie convo out! That's the best part of the episode!
For me the best part is when Jeff had to go in for a second hug with Abend. Because he is just so grateful that Aber started it all.
given the "won't they?/nobody cares", I'm not surprised they cut that scene out
For me it's the airport drop off, because it feels like I'm watching a mandela universe thing, where no one else sees Jeff kissing annie at the airport in front of Abed.
Original Annie's pretty young, we try not to sexualise her.
why’d they cut the abed scene :(
Just a quick comment to say thank you for brightening my Wednesdays with these reactions for the past god knows how long - Community is my comfort show and I love seeing anyone interact with it.
Rewatching this with y'all has been a journey, I almost feel as emotional as I did when I watched the Finale "premiere". To think in just another year or two we may finally get that movie we've waited for since season 3, when so many of us thought the show was ending
End of this reaction was perfect. It's great to see you guys having fun and just messing around. Like Abed talked about, sometimes breaking the format and changing things up can keep it fun and fresh. I think that applies to the goofiness and extra long "afterparty" of this reaction.
You guys should also watch the zoom table read that happened over quarantine
let's hope
Really want you guys to replace this with either Psych or New girl, A long running lighthearted series is always a good time to come here on wednesdays.
It’s been replaced by Succession
I'd love New Girl. I agree about lighthearted series. When B99 ended we had this. I'd love something else
@@joevictor53 Right a long running comedy show is so good.
seconded paticularly on Psych. I know at least one of them has already seen it, but not most of them, and it would make for great reactions.
@@cirederfsamot2730 psych is on the current poll to replace the bear.
This is one of my favorite shows and I was so so excited for you to react to it. I really wanted to see Eric react to the paintball episode and I really wanted to see Aaron react to Jeff's redhead pitch. Also, you should react to the pandemic reunion table read.
This ending came quicker than I thought it would. I wasn't ready for it. It feels like they just started these reactions. Really hope they do a podcast like B99 and watch the bloopers, minisodes and the reunion table read
Damn it’s been quite the college experience you guys👨🎓 been waiting for the post credit scene since ep. 1 and I’ve been waiting for AARON TO PAY UP since I was born 🔥❤😂
This is actually funny because this is my last week of college ever. I’ll be officially done with school all together after this week.
Congrats. Now it's time to actually start learning things.
Revisiting this show with you guys has gotten me through some real rough times. Thanks for watching and loving this series! Hope the movie actually comes out!
Great show, great reaction! Please do the bloopers!
Love the fact that you guys stuck with the hot sauce bet. Watching your reaction to this show has been the highlight of my Wednesday for the last couple years. Now THIS is a group of dudes who can keep me entertained.
feels like you guys started watching it so recently! sad to see it go but man what a triumphant ending
Erick having chiken wings on his storage could be something that came out of Community
He keeps it with his mannequin leg
The episode of the study group saving the school by finding the old dean in a secret room under Greendale and Jeff puts on the helmet that reads your emotions. The moment he looked at Annie, we all knew how we really felt about her. We're still crossing our fingers for that Movie!
Chang: "I farted during the 4th one." ---> The year of the gas leak.
I can't belive that epic metaphysical mindfuck of that final scene, making me laugh and question the nature of reality at the same time
If it made you question the nature of reality, you never had a firm grip on it to begin with. It's only a metaphysical mindfuck for the fictional characters on the show, not for the audience.
Been watching since episode 1 of season 1 & all i can say is thank you Blind Wave, this show is my favorite for a reason & being able to laugh alongside you guys has been a treat. I'll never stop re-watching these reactions as this show is totally streets ahead. Also very exciting to know were still getting the movie. Gravy Jones signing off.
For my money, this is the best finale for a comedy sitcom of all time. Glad you all enjoyed your Community journey!
Man, I remember the day you started reacting to Community, I was so excited that I started calculating in my head how long of a time it would take for you to finish all of it. But here we are, more than two years later. So much has changed in these years. So much has not. Thanks to the whole crew, it's been a fun ride with y'all! Now we'll look forward to the movie together!
Thank you guys for reacting to this show! It was a long road but we finally made it and we're ready to move on. Now we just have to wait for the movie...someday.
This is bittersweet!!! I’m glad I was here for every episode with you guys!!!
This was the first show reaction where i watched along with you from start to finish i think. It was fun to look forward for the uploads every week and it was very comforting to watch it after a busy day. Thank you for that.
Loved the journey, thanks so much for reacting to this show!
Absolutely one of my favorite shows and I love that I got to watch through it with you all again.
Have a great day!
Thank you all so much for a wonderful series of reactions
What a ride, been here since episode 1. Thank you
loved watching y'all enjoy this show!! better be getting that movie reaction once it's out!
Thank you so much for watching through this entire show and giving it a chance. It’s my favourite comedy series of all time, I found it online as a teenager and it has a special place in my heart.
Amazing journey by your side, guys. Thanks.
Thanks for all those reaction videos guys. That was fun.
Thanks for the journey guys 😊 I look forward to many more.
I LOVE THE FINAL BIT!
Easily one of my favorite bits of the series....
Now we have to watch the Covid reunion, so great to see Donald glover excited about more community on it
I loved hearing him talk about Dean's peanut bar rap. That means he still watched the show after he left
Thank you for the Community reaction BW, it's been such a fun ride to rewatch my favorite sitcom with you guys
The song at the end is one of the best Ending songs they could've chosen for their journey..
Loved watching these reactions guys
Wow, we finally got here. This show has meant so much to me. Binged the show and watched the last two season when they came out. Through the best times and the worst this show was there. The series finale has helped me with the uncertainty of life and dealing with change and things ending. I always tear up at Jeff panicking, clinging to what if’s or “spin-offs” because of his fear of being alone. Seeing a grown man not wanting to lose those he loves but learning that nothing permanent. Him being okay bring so much peace to me. He’s still flawed but he’s gonna be okay. Idk, I just love this show
Can't believe I was rewarded for watching along whole of community, awesome.
watched from the beginning thanks for reacting to this special show!
You guys started this series during my freshman year of college, and now I'm graduating this weekend! This has been a great part of my Wednesdays for the past few years
I adore this finale. It was a very nice goodbye to beloved characters.
Loved watching along with you guys! Kinda sad you didn't show the final scene but YouTuve copyright is tough to work with
Community might be on of my favourite shows of all time and it has been an absolute pleasure being able to rewatch it along with you. Thank you for your reactions and I'm glad you enjoyed the show!
I hope you do check out maybe not as a reaction but the zoom episode that they did during the Pandemic it has Pedro Pascal and it is such a good table read that they do.
YESSS thank you Eric for not letting him get off of the hot Sauce Bet! Very happy that Aaron didn’t get away with it!
My 7th season would just be me and 6 Annies around the study table
The written journals is about Nielsen ratings
Epic finale. Gonna miss watching this with you guys.
It's been a journey. Thanks for letting me rewatch one of my favorite shows with you all. First Lost, then Community. Would love to see you all react to the Community table reading reunion livestream they did during Covid. The cast reads the Season 5, Episode 4: Cooperative Polygraphy and stared Pedro Pascal as replacement for Walton Goggins' character. The part where Pedro gets the giggles on the sperm lines is pure gold.
Watch the bloopers, staff evaluations, and webisodes (including a reveal of the mascot). There is also a fantastic table read and Q&A with the cast and a special guest.
Weird overlap to hear Aaron mention Ludwig, like two of my worlds colliding
you need to react to behind the scenes!! they're hilarious
Been here since episode with you guys, hopefully you’ll come back when the movie comes out!!
Have been enjoying from episode 1. 'Twas fun!
Damn, if only Eric had kept scrolling when he was reading the wiki, he would've gotten to the point where Dan Harmon revealed Annie was the Ass Crack Bandit.
Been through the whole journey with you. Time to move on to new things
One of my all time favorite series finales ever! The 2nd hug between Jeff and Abed always gets me.
Coincidentally I finished watching the show a week before you guys started it, can't wait for the movie!
At the end of the ACB episode, the camera shots allude to multiple people possibly being the bandit. I ended up with the assumption that there were actually a few separate bandits...
Britta always seemed the most obvious. She targeted people who wronged her.
watched every reaction !! can't wait for the movie!
The Movie is coming soon! Alison Brie confirmed that she's even read the script. Maybe in the movie, Jeff will get a chance to rectify his mistake of letting Annie go smh
Well, does he let her go? Did you see the airport drop off where Jeff kisses Annie goodbye in front of abed? And Annie was only gone for the summer.
I just don't want the expected story of them falling out of touch but now it's okay to date now that they're both adults. And if they devote time to the plot in the movie, I really don't want them to just pull the rug out.
Magnitude is currently memorizing his lines.
Yup! Filming starts this summer and they’re hoping for release either late 2025 or early 2026
@@Isabella-hd1gt”what was he trying to say?!” I remember Troy freaking out during paintball 😂😂😂😂
This is the funniest comedy series since Seinfeld and I found it when s03 was going on and loved it right away. Ive loved your reactions to it and been following since the beginning so.. great job and thank you. NOW WE CAN WAIT FOR THE MOVIE
Man what a journey! This show is so special
Watched it all for the first time with you
The finale is here
i loved this BW series. Second only to AoS which is how i found them. This series in particular is special because i started watching during my run as a mentally ill homeless person in and out of mental facilities and shelters. which is nutz because now on the finale i'm watching this in my home after having a great 3rd day in my new position which is the second promotion ive received in the seven months that i've been working at my new job. This series has been there in literally the hardest and darkest period of my life. thanks Blind Wave for all the healthy distractions.
