Ebony sounds way better and the white with Vinnie pickguard is just Booyaaaa! My frank remark about that 4 finger/3finger technique involving ur thumb (or that Laboriel or Dom dipiaza or Matt Garrison thingy) is that it sounds like that MACHINE GUN effect once the riff's speed picksup, although it makes you play fast efficiently.
IMHO... It loses that articulation and loses that grace when compared to your alternate traditional 2 finger pluck tech, in which u r wicked good already.
I will straight away drop playing/practicing this 3finger/4finger technique but for some show offs
