I borrowed one of these back in the late '80s when I hurt my back and couldn't manage gigging with my Les Paul, after I returned it to my friend I was on the lookout for a used one but never managed to get a hold of one
It has a lever lock system. You gotta adjust it when you restring , look underneath the saddle, you’ll see a lever which comes down than you gotta adjust the other knob, on the back , it looks like the guitar strap hook but it’s not…
🤟😁👍Johnny Winter played a Erlewine Lazer guitar custom made in Austin Texas. (Saw him play it at the Memphis Blues Festival 3 feet in front of him, never figured out what he was playing, mesmerizing). Similar to this. Eddie Van Halen played a Steinberger Spirit guitar like this with his signature paint job. Johnny Beane has a white Spirit he has played for years. These are fun guitars that sound good and play well. Just a few hundred bucks new, getcha one.
The "Spirit" line is the cheaper version. Eddie had the model with the graphite neck and the transposing tremolo. Which is what he used on Summer Nights and Get Up.
@@JoeR203 You are correct sir, thank you for pointing that out. It was a Steinberger GL-2T trans trem model. Can be seen on Trans Trem Thursday played by OHYOUATEONE2.
Lou Reed played one and a big hero of mine Johnny Winter although mainly known for his Firebirds played them. One of my favorite songs is the copulation song with James Cotton and Muddy Waters start with Black Cats Bone.
Bro I have learned so much about setting up different types of guitars from your channel. This is simple but without a doubt helpful content. Nothing too flashy or fancy but insightful nonetheless.
I have a similar headless kit I built to take along for business travel. Ironically, I haven't traveled for business since I finished it February 2020.
I have a Steinberger spirit they are ultra lite but the original GL2T Trans Trem is lite as a feather and even thinner then a board I can fit five of them in the space that takes up one of my Gibson Firebirds .
as a relative perfectionist, this video is hard to watch ;). I would of done the top edge also. There is a screw to lock the saddles into place after intonation. Its on the side of the bridge. Also, one ball end is gold, one ball end is silver... The package says wich ball belongs on the top and wich on the bridge.
Leslie West, several albums in the late eighties and early nineties... horrible sound compared to a LP Junior with a wall of Sunns. Johnny Cash had a Strat headed acoustic...I thought it was a custom shop model. Sounds great!
those saddles need to be locked with the grub screw on the side of the bridge pointed at you.
I used to use Guitar Honey back in the late 90's, works great on non-maple boards.

I have one of these. It's cool because you can use regular strings on these and don't need the double balled ones.
guitar honey is for the neck ,,,,,its open grain treatment,,,
I watch all your videos man. Just awesome to hang with you as you restring and clean these beasts
Glad you like them!
My underrated guitar player played one of those Steinberger guitar 🎸. Vito bratta from white lion 🦁!🤘🏻🤘🏻
Both Sting and Geddy Lee played Spirits in their mid 80's tours
Awesome guitars

EVH used his Steinberger for the main solo performance in the '88 Monsters of Rock Tour (at least in Akron Ohio, he did)!

Nice. hows the weight? I despise heavy/bulky electric guitars

Ghs string are great strings and use them on my BC Rich warlock 👍
Both Suck.😅
Thay was one of my first ❤ memories 😅
When you test out some new strings that you just put on a guitar. That’d be cool if you tried out a different effects pedal you have in the shop.
How much are you asking for the Steinberger guitar? Thanks.
Wow man this is such an awesome headless guitar right here I love it. Shred on dude.😃👍❤️🔥⚡️🎶🎸
I wish i had the stuff i had as a kid..had a harmony a spirit an a black beuty w no pup's
I dislike center pickup tha kills sustain on electrics
I think Johnny Winter played a guitar like that.
