    Gt series have a harmonic generator circuit which generates lower bass notes that is difficult to reproduce or hear then convert the same to higher notes or mix with it..The Circuit has 3 stages with 3 OP amp IC.. Input amp, harmonic generator and then low pass filter..
    This circuit generating bass from 25 hz to 250 hz.. The peak performance of this 4th order bandpass woofer enclosure is at 42 hz ..from 27 hz to 55 hz..
    That is why the bass is so deep.. The circuit provides beafy and fat deeo bass addition to the kick or punchy..The capacitor and resistor value of this cicuit at the filtering sections change for GT 80 and GT 90.. Actually GT 80 is tuned little higher ..Hence it feels as punchy..❤❤❤❤

      @AnoopSara Рік тому

      @@ahyhijooooo I checked the circuit now. It is same except the values of some components had been changed. GT 90 has a bandpass enclosure which is tuned at 42 hz. It has a resonance imaging from 28 hz to 55 hz which peaks around 40 hz..

      @@ahyhijooooo Yes . Exception is the bandpass enclosure. J900 has a ported enclosure and the frequency response and peak is different.. According to that tuning the values of components are decided and fixed.But the Circuit is same..

    Whoa, Nice Video Bro...
    The only thing that I complain about the GT700 is that it really distorts at high volumes. Otherwise it could be the most balanced system in a gigatube series because the way that the sub wasn’t in bandpass and it can definitely go to somewhere like 200Hz.
    The GT80 was the best looking gigatube I ever seen. I love the way that the speaker looks when it put next to the amp. And also the thing that you said on discord about the gt80 yes indeed gt80 was little bit more punchier and better mids compared to the gt90.
    The GT90 is a beast for bass in a gigatube lineups the way that it can compete your 12inch polk audio sub even though it’s only an 8 inch is very insane for a stereo system. I like the looks of the amp because of that shiny thingy on the CD trays, on the knobs and the tape decks.
    What a great Video overall James.

      Yeah sucks gt700 distorts. I still think the gt80 is the most balanced gigatube as it's a great all round gigatube, gt700 can't play the low bass too well

      I have to admit i have heard the gt80 gt90 gt88 hxd8 and the one i bought back then was the mxgc5. I think it had a lower tuning than most of the other systems and the mids and highs were so crystal clear. I still have the speakers but dont have the receiver anymore 😢 wish i could find one to power them again!

    Nice collection! 👍 I remember playing with these and a lot more side by side every time I went to a Sears, circuit city, radio shack etc... Was always surprised to find the Gt700 on the rock eq had the deepest bass of any of the common mini systems of the time, including the more expensive giga tubes. It wasn't muddy either, just clean deep bass. The other ones may have been a bit louder at max volume, but 13 year old me didn't care. Bass over everything! 👊

    • @TheJVCguy
      @TheJVCguy  Рік тому

      Ahh that sounds fun lol, and gt700 on rock eq? I might have to give that a try! From my experience gt700 never hits those lows as good as gt80 or gt90. Gt90 bass is the best for me, it sounds like an earthquake is going on in your house! Haha

      I thought the gt91R was an upgraded version of the GT90!I noticed, for example, that my gt700R model is weaker than the GT 700!And it has an Eco mode button next to the stand/on button. And Button display mode , Pty eon and select+/- which the GT 700 does not have!
      These are probably the differences for the European and US market that require it!

    I have a MX gt 700R!
    I like the colorful display, and the possibility to turn off the clock at night! Because it has an Eco mode button.The only thing is that it is a weaker model - 2x135 watts.And it's bad that there is no lighting on the round volume buttons!For that time, that stereo system was very good. And especially for today's models in stores.

    Ive had that happen to me countless times with the tape doors that have a push eject. But id still rather have those because the ones that use electronics to open it relies on the belt system to open, and ive the belt breaks theres no way to get the tape out without opening the stereo.

    • @TheJVCguy

      @@TheJVCguy Thats what i mean. The Panasonics that i have use a solenoid along with running the motor for a moment to open the decks. And even though its a neat feature, it has a disadvantage. From what I said before the tape would be stuck if the belt breaks.

    If you turn down the volume two, three or so clicks, does the dsp balance out the frequencies, and then above it all the way up it will lower lower/stop raising the lower frequencies, and the mids, and highs will increase?

    In 2004 I had the GT700 for a very short time.. I sold it I didn't like the sound of it..
    I can say it's one of the worst compacts I've ever had!!!
    The only positive thing about the sound is its good low 25hz!!!
    it's like buying a sub because the rest of the sound isn't worth it..
    high frequencies have no quality, they are tiring because they sound very open
    mids and bass 60hz just don't exist!
