The nostalgia is really hitting right now. My dad is a really big fan of U2 and he's got a lot of CDs... When we went on trip we used to listen to this and other songs in repeat...
Now there is Covid and we don't go on trips too frequently.

I never really listened to this songs before. Its awesome❤. Love Bono's voice. Sometimes relationships are one sided. One blames the other. Acts like Jesus (perfect). Figuratively makes the other crawl. When I heard the verse WE NEED TO CARRY EACH OTHER. I never applied, thought, and said this to my spouse. I’m embarrassed to say that notwithstanding the thousands of times I’m listened to, and played and sang, this song, I only truly realized yesterday and today what it’s about. I know that it’s when you live through what a song is about, you REALLY understand it; but I’m not usually this dense; these words aren’t too tough. Maybe because it just happened to me and this is exactly how I felt… .

I've just came here on October 21 2020 because they used this song during the national tribute paid to the teacher decapitated by a terrorist in France 🇫🇷 I think his family wanted this song to be played during the national tribute which was broadcasted on national TV. It was so sad ..

Eh... that doesn't mean all interpretations are viable. I'd thoroughly agree that anybody who wants this at their wedding has horrible musical taste. I like ice cream and I like scrambled eggs, but I would never put ice cream in my scrambled eggs or vice versa.

I remember too. I was working at UPS in my early 20s and was never really into U2 untill i heard this song and bought the tape because i was going thru a tough break up, will never forget that time in my life thx U2 you became my all time favorite band ever since.

"One" already may be one of the best songs ever written with haunting lyrics that pull on my heartstrings & now more than ever I see a glimmer of hope in it's melancholy undertone. These lyrics were meant for me to see, to relate to and see what you've gotta do for Love before it's too late. Bono laid it out for us hopeless romantics in Love so that we don't take love for granted In order to truly Love someone U have to give it you're "All" or you end up with nothing. His promises always seemed genuine, and his apologies showed great understanding and sincerity. So I waited and waited, carrying on enabling his behaviour until one day, I gave up and walked away, despite the fact that I was still very much in love with him. I genuinely think he wanted to chage but didn't know how to, until it was too late. It was only then that he realised what he'd lost, and I had to live with knowing how much time I'd wasted and lost, in return 😢. X
