Specifics of SFF-8643 Cables for SAS/SATA Drives, Backplanes, and Host Adapters (HBA Cards)

In this video, we’ll explore why your drives aren’t detected when installed in the backplane of your NAS. Mini SAS HD SFF-8643 to 4 x SATA 7 Pin cables for (1) connecting SATA drives to a host adapter (HBA card) and (2) connecting a SAS/SATA backplane to SATA ports on the motherboard look and are named the same, except for a small detail. In the second case, the cable must be reverse breakout.
