    They simply don’t make machines like that anymore. They may age and rust up but underneath all that are sound materials and robust craftsmanship. Thank you for restoring this item to such a beautiful and functional piece of kitchen equipment! I would love to have one of these in my own home! Superb work!

    Brilliant Radek, that brought back happy memories of when I was a kid, we couldn't afford to go to the movies on a Saturday so we would look through the butchers window and watch the bacon slicer go round.😂

    Once again I love that brush technique you guys use to just lightly bring out the fine details in the iron. I've always admired the Victorian era penchant for turning everything into a work of art.

    Excellent restoration. It seems to me that it was a tougher job to dissemble the slicer than it was to reassemble it. But you did an excellent job as usual. Thanks for saving this beautiful piece of equipment.

    You have an eye for items that have appealing designs and were well executed. For a meat slicer, this is a beautiful thing. As an aside, I was amazed at how true the cutter disk ran in the lathe. Excellent job, as always!

      Thanks for the question. If lead is present in the paint, it is not possible to sand (danger of swirling) an alternative must be chosen. Either lye or paint remover. In my country, we have so-called "collection yards", where this hazardous waste can be handed in free of charge and subsequently disposed of ecologically.

    • @leisongivangomo5656
      @leisongivangomo5656 2 роки тому +1

      @@VeradonaRestoration Thank You for the quick response 😃 is this the same for the sand blasting medium? I would think that after sand blasting a lead paint, the swirling would increase for future projects. Do you immediately clean your sand blaster after a lead contaminated project?

    • @VeradonaRestoration
      @VeradonaRestoration  2 роки тому

      @@leisongivangomo5656 If the paint contains lead - I do not sand

    • @Ea-Nasir_Copper_Co
      @Ea-Nasir_Copper_Co 2 роки тому

      @@VeradonaRestoration If you do sandblast lead paint, you may also find that your blast medium clumps up; it may even clog your nozzle and tubing to the point they have to be replaced. Lead was added to paint in part to provide adhesion, and lead paint dust heated up by the friction of sandblasting will stick to _everything_.

I have seen an Old Cheese slicer but I don't believe I have seen the Meat slicer before. Now if I have seen one it would have been back in the 60's when my Parents who didn't have much money, would load all of us kids in the Car an we would go find some old Country roads an get lost just driving around looking a the sceneries just enjoying being together as a Family. Stop by some Old Old Country Store get bread bologna an cheese an maybe a soda to share go fing a cool shady spot spread the Old Blanket out sit an eat. We kids would go run around exploring the area an then we girls would sit an make Daisy chains. Thank You for sharing. 🎉
