One of the things that would concern me would be the possible fraying of fabric that was cut in these examples like the 5" squares and the jeans legs when the seam was cut to hem the jeans. Granted, the seams would be much thinner this way. Sure wished there was some talking telling you what they are doing and why instead of the finger wiggling.
I can tell you that the hem of the jeans holds up well even after multiple washes. As for the coasters, I left the seam allowance big enough and if you topstitch them, you needn't have to worry about fraying
I made 2 videos, one sewing by hand and one with a machine. Some people don't have sewing machines. This is a quick project and sewing by hand is just as secure as by machine. Just takes longer
Good tips and tricks BUT why did you have to call it "hacks". When I hear the word "hack, hacks", the first thing I think of is is this information stolen or being used w/o the owner's permission similar to someone "hacking" into someone's computer.
Think of these "hacks" as tricks that maximize your time and effort. Hacks are nothing but shortcuts that have been rebranded. The word "shortcuts" got somewhat bad reputation as they generally don't produce the meaningful or long-lasting results we want to achieve.
"Hacks" is also a term for tricks or tips, and it has been used for several years. Think of Hints from Heloise--today it would be Hacks from Heloise :-)
Someof these are not doing things to old jeans, I don't understand, especially the last one. The first one I like. Also the hole repair.

In the first video, adding length to the short jean pocket, why sew by hand? A sewing machine would be neater and more secure.

When I see the word hack I always think of roughly chopping off something 😊
