I would maybe suggest you build a roof over the hayrolls to keep it dry during the winter and shade in the summer. We did that and I think the animals really appreciated it. 💖💞🤗🙏

Rufus did it again...oh how fantastic this made me cry....I do hope Lucy gets the hang of feeding...that little one looks like she needs all the nutrition she can get...oh this is wonderful..we all still miss Rufus but he lives on..wonder if we will get a third..

I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully, she'll improve now.
They've had the issue with all three female Alpacas. It started after the trimmers came and used rope on their legs to keep them still. But no one thinks tat caused it.
I was wondering the same thing. Babies have a tendency to get comfortable in not good places for Mom.
Funnily enough ive just said something similar..would explain a lot too..no wonder they wouldn't let poor Jerry mate with them !!

Oh & ps.... maybe you should find another vet. I worked at 2 animal hospitals over 16 yrs experience. & doesn't sound like that vet who told you last time they weren't pregnant & were, then Rufus is Sterile & wasn't, & had they not told you he was Sterile he wouldn't have been castrated or brought to that horrible park to be killed.... just my opinion.... maybe that vet is newer & inexperienced, or just doesn't know what they are saying / doing.
@@cjones2698 Apparently even in Peru, where alpacas are from, they sometimes can't tell if it is pregnant. Give the US vet the benefit of the doubt.

congrats on the addition to the herd. A little info for you. My daughter is a vet. During her schooling she spent a summer volunteering at a clinic in Peru. She tells me that even they can't tell sometimes if alpaca's is pregnant. Even an ultra sound isn't foolproof.

I watched a time and 1/2 I could not agree or say more than the comments posted! I don't know if I should laugh or cry! Of my gosh I really cried over Rufus! I know I am a weird old lady, but he made laugh out loud. I could not believe someone hurt him! Now two babies I know I sound like a crazy old woman but It's like God showing his plan his way! So just when you think things are so bad, he shows us that he will deliver pun intended! I really, really wish u guy knew how much you have helped me in with my faith. I really struggle thru Covid and beyond, but you have helped me so much to see the world in such a more positive way I want to thank from the bottom of my heart!
