  • Today I go through putting together a Phase 2 Clone Trooper Helmet kit from start to finish, from clean up, sanding and filling, to painting and weathering and those final extra touches. I also do the face off mod!
    Many thanks to Sanotized Creations for making such a great kit. Just to clarify, I wasn't paid, or supplied with the kit, it was bought with my own coin.

    Thank you for this video, your idea on magnet face attachment is great, I was looking up ideas for mine. I am doing a 3D printed model, so I have a lot more cracks than the resin design, but I think it will turn out well. Cheers!

    This is the best video you ever made. It's really interesting to see you go through the whole process. It seems like a lot of work but very fun to do. Especially the painting side of it.
    How long does it take you in real time to do from start to finnish ? Have you ever thought of designing a suit from scratch as in a custom one ? Also where do you get that mini saw blade from ? Sorry for all the questions ha ha ha

    • @BucketheadStudios
      @BucketheadStudios  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you! Thought I'd try for a comprehensive tutorial type video.
      Not sure how long it would take me, as the filming and everything adds so much time. Depends how much filling etc you have to do and for that all to dry, drying time is the big killer, same with the paint layers, at least 24 hours between coats at least. Could probably do it in a week (with FT work as well), with nice evenings to paint and the weekend. Not thought about adding another clone to my costume list yet.
      You can get the little saw blades from Amazon, something like hobby saw blades

    • @BucketheadStudios

      You should prime with a flexible primer, flexbond or plastidip are popular ones. Plastidip is in a spray can so may be easier to obtain and apply

    Hi,
    I'm in the process of building my own helmet from Sanotized creations and I have a few questions. You did a really good job with the helmet, so I wanted to know if I could contact you personally if I had any further questions. but first my most important question: how did you live the grid to the attached details?(16:50) Sorry you skipped that in the video.
    It would be very nice of you if you could help me. Greetings from Germany✌🏻❤

    • @BucketheadStudios

      I use the same mesh as for the teeth section and cut it into a circle. You can pattern the circle with masking tape and then transfer to the mesh. Can cut with scissors. Doesn't have to be too accurate, it's quite forgiving at the edges once you add some weathering. If you'd like to dm any more questions, best to message me on my Instagram @buckethead.studios much more likely to see messages over there 🙂
