      @cinobro6393 not saying it's worth 15K bit will say it's not the same as the adwise printer. It's a bit more modified than the original adwise. I bought the 22IDEx last year and ended up returning it.

    Those VM printers are not actually high temp capable in the proper sense. They do hacky workarounds to just barely achieve successful prints on parts with horrible warping and internal stresses because the chamber is just way too damn cold. For instance, they superglue the part to the bed to prevent warping of early layers (which doesn’t address layer separation further up the part) and then they print as fast as they can to limit the time each layer has to cool. This results in substantially weaker layer adhesion. 90C is nowhere near high enough for a strong, dimensionally stable PEEK part. So it’s the worst of both worlds, it’s too expensive to be a consumer printer, but it’s not capable enough to be an industrial printer.

      @cinobro6393 3 місяці тому +4

      It is also just a slightly updated addwise idex, probably for the best as it had a bltouch as a bed probe of all things but the updated printer is still pretty janky and leaks a lot to be desired.
      (Not to mention it is now 3x the price…)

      So more like the Bambu AMS?
      I was wondering about re spooling a partial spool when only the cassette is there to keep the filament from getting tangled. Sounds like a mess to deal with. And if you want to swap a spool…tangles are almost a certainty.
      Using some kind of tension during rewinding is required to get clean, tangle free results.

    The 8 track looks interesting, but as someone running an ERCF, the lack of filament cutter (although you should be able to add one) and encoder makes me wonder how reliable it is.
    The encoder is the best feature of the ERCF because it automatically detects jams and pauses prints for you. I like it so much, I’ve been considering adding an encoder to my other printers just for the peace of mind.
    The cutter solves a lot of issues and I didn’t get reliable swaps until I added one. I’m sure the folding mechanism works 90% of the time, but multi color prints can have thousands of swaps, and without any tip tuning or cutting, it’s going to clog more frequently than a cutter.
    It’s still cool though and I’m sure there will be community mods that add those things. I do really like the top hat design as one of the biggest issue with building an ercf is figuring out where to put all the filament rolls.

    Just saying the vision miner tech doesn't really appear to deserve quite as much hate. They have spent many many hours printing high temp for real engineering project applications, so their decisions are aimed at serving that type of market. And generally more money can be afforded to a machine with those specs. Point to a hobby level or prosumer printer that comes close to the 22IDEX performance at a lower price. I haven't seen a single printer that can even do close to a 90C chamber without requiring a quote from the company, which means its going to be expensive. There are reasons why its difficult to get a heated chamber above the consumer level 60C, and you pay for that invested engineering time, not just the parts. And unless you have one, and fail to make a profit using it, you honestly cant say its not worth 15k. To many it might just be.

      yup, speciality equipment (PLUS THE SUPPORT, which people tend to always overlook) cost money and when you need a machine that can do anything your throw at it, WITH the uptime you need, well, it costs money.
      Also, these arnt machines little timmy is buying to print meme prints and flexi dragons on/

    Vision miner is out of their minds asking 15k for a machine that 2k. I'm sure ratrig 4 nozzle calibration will be on e the miner soon. He lists the motors like they are something special. Those are $30 motors. Nothing special. See no reason for the 7x inflated price. That said the vision miner bed adhesive sample they gave out works fantastic. I'll be getting a big jug at some point

    • @Mytagforhalo
      @Mytagforhalo 3 місяці тому +4

      Even in the commercial high-temp world, 15k is enough to buy significantly more equipment per dollar than that thing. Either larger or better built. They priced it there likely because it technically fits into that price bracket with other brands that they've sold. Such as intamsys (which had since released the 310). But the closer you look at the machine the more you realize that its essentially a hobby level machine in a steel enclosure. I know they outsourced production to the neatherlands or somewhere similar, and last I checked it was essentially a re-badge of their existing products.
      The only person I ever knew that purchased one of their machines gave up on it after a year after constant print quality issues and finally finding a broken wiring harness that vision miner apparently wouldnt cover. They were in the middle of looking to spend more money on a larger commercial dual extruder afterwards.
      Vision miner is a company that profits off of great marketing. Features like non-planar printing is something this machine has always promoted despite there being no way of actually printing in that manner. It just looks cool in a video. They state a 90 degree limit because that's likely what the electronics and fans can handle, but quickly say they print higher than that. In my experience that just leads to unhappy customers when the machine breaks down or fails to hold that temperature consistantly.
      As for their glue.. I used to use it quite a bit, but you go though it like water on a decent sized build plate. I just wound up using PVP glue on higher temperature applications and PVA based liquids like layerneer on lower temperature ones. Between those choices on glass, and newer PEI and smooth film options, I in no way desire to spend that ammount of money on what's essentially 3% polymer dissolved in alcohol.

      @jamesm3268 yeah you got a point. I opened up a "commercial grade" battery jump cart and all that was in side it was a car battery and a normal Stanley battery charger. Less then $300 worth of parts. Sells for $2500.

      Thank you for sharing your perspective on our 22 IDEX machine. We appreciate all feedback as it helps us better communicate our value proposition. Allow me to address your concerns and provide some additional context about our product and pricing strategy.
      Firstly, it's important to clarify that the 22 IDEX is not simply a rebranded or minimally modified version of a less expensive machine. While its origins can be traced back to Addwise technology, our product has undergone extensive redevelopment and enhancement over the past three years. Our engineering team has implemented over 150 significant changes, investing thousands of hours to transform it into a robust, industrial-grade 3D printer.
      The components you've mentioned, such as the motors, while important, represent only a fraction of what makes the 22 IDEX a high-performance machine. The value lies not just in individual parts, but in the sophisticated integration of these components, the advanced features, and the overall system reliability that allows for 24/7 industrial operation.
      Our target market is industrial customers who require a machine capable of consistently printing with high-performance materials that can cost $400-$600 per spool. These clients demand unwavering reliability and precision, which our machine delivers. Furthermore, the price includes access to our industry-leading support team, providing direct, one-on-one assistance whenever needed - a critical factor for businesses where downtime can be extremely costly.
      When comparing the 22 IDEX to other industrial 3D printers with similar capabilities, you'll find that many are priced between $50,000 and $200,000. At $15,000, our machine offers exceptional value in the industrial 3D printing market.
      It's also worth noting that Vision Miner has recently acquired Addwise, bringing the entire development and manufacturing process in-house. This strategic move allows us to have even greater control over quality and enables rapid implementation of improvements. For more details about this acquisition, we invite you to read the coverage in industry publications such as 3D Printing Industry:
      3dprintingindustry.com/news/vision-miner-acquires-addwise-in-a-14m-deal-231289/
      We understand that our pricing may not align with hobbyist or consumer-grade 3D printers. However, the 22 IDEX is designed and built for a different purpose - to meet the demanding needs of industrial applications where reliability, precision, and support are paramount.
      We invite you to learn more about the capabilities of the 22 IDEX and our upcoming V3 version. If you have any further questions or would like to discuss how our solutions might benefit your specific needs, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly at Contact@visionminer.com or call us at 833-774-6863.
      Thank you again for your feedback. We're always striving to improve and provide the best possible value to our customers.
