Man this gave me all the feels. One of my first favorite fighters and to this day one of my favorite of all time. Just a fighters fighter and one of the most likeable guys there is. Miss this era of the UFC. The sport wasn't as high level as it is today, but something about these times in the UFC just felt special and different.
You need performance enhancers to train like that. And trt. I trained twice a day. After 2 or 3 weeks. I just got run down. I couldn’t do it. Just felt so fatigued. I try train everyday. Or when my body can take it. Do you still train
He did wayyy too much. Thats the reason he had to retire early. There is no reason to workout 4 times a day everyday. You aren't getting better when your body and CNS can't recover
This was just the style done at the time,& he'd already been doing it for several years at this point ,train all day everyday, only recovering while you sleep ,Forrest's commitment to nothing else but his training made him quite formidable in the cage but yeah he often overtrained in camps & racked up injuries,he'd be the first to tell you himself not to train like this.
Sadly they didn't know about overtraining as much back then. All this training everyday is the reason he and so many other guys retired early and are so beat down now in the 40s. You can't train like this and expect your body, brain and central nervous system to recover. And doing 30-45 mins of 4 different things is less efficient than spending 1-2 hours on say just boxing and jiu-jitsu one day and the 1-2 hours on wrestling and strength/conditioning the next. His training style 100% contributed to him being so injured at a young age.
1 hour Strength and Conditioning 1 hour Boxing 1 hour Wrestling 1 hour Jiu-jitsu This is a recipe for disaster if you do it everyday. Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin did it everyday and got injured a lot. Randy Couture does this in a 3 day cycle and fought till his late 40s. Overtraining doesn't give you better results because the human body is not a machine and requires plenty of rest.

I wonder if he always did four days or if that was just kind of a heavy day for him if he did I feel like he was always super overtrained

Go show him how it’s done. I can’t wait. Please clean your cheetoh fingers first.
Could she wear more makeup? So weird that women feel the need to wear makeup.
Don’t worry, there’s still enough for you.
