The 595 is a cracking car (I drove one from London to Scotland and back) but I don't think I want to live with/own one. For me, the Abarth is more of a holiday romance as opposed to a long term relationship.
Those sound so good. Love hearing the turbo that's perfect.

This was a great review. I have a MR2 Turbo as my toy but looking maybe at the Abarth as a daily.
I like how you differentiate between a car being fast and feeling fast. To often people will compare the speed of 2 cars based on how fast they feel rather than how fast they actually are. My ep3 type r doesn’t feel as fast as my mk7 fiesta st did but when timed its actually faster

The valve isn’t controlled by the sport button. It opens above 4K rpm I believe.
It can be controlled with the button on the 2019 model
Btw, you can tell by looking at the end of the exhaust pipes, this guy doesn't have the 2019 model. Most people (such as myself) are still waiting for theirs to be built
JN Photography interesting. How have the pipes changed?
To be honest, the Abarth site is awful at showing this but according to the dealer, it’s more like the 124’s design. It stays open when in sport mode, it also looks more like the 124 at the end of the pipes. Main difference in the 2019 595s are emissions and options (for seatbelt colours, etc.)

JB CTR yes mate, I went for a red one with racing wheels. Only done 8k kms as used for fun on days off. It turns heads and is great fun to drive.
Fuel economy sucks if u drive like it should be driven.

My Mrs has a fiat 500 and I wanted her to upgrade to a 595 but she wouldn't. I just wanted to drive it I think they sound awesome just to small for me.

Abarth hasn't given you their latest car with the proper valve controlled exhaust... I've got the model you drove and the valve control is suspect .... It's always loud to my ear.
When you say you turned off traction control, do you mean TCC?
Austin Gray there's a button to turn off ESC, you can turn it off partially or "completely" if you hold the button down for 7-8 seconds, it does turn it off for the most part as you can do fwd burnouts if the tarmac is wet.

Unless you like the "savage" look, I advise getting the turismo. Same hw engine, better look (imho).
Marco Tecno I think the competizione in that new light bluish gray color with the red details at the front and back is the best look for an abarth overall but other than that I agree. Black series 3s with black headlights and rear lights also look mental and mean. I personally own a classic white and red series 2, though I'm changing the headlights to match series 3 as that small detail really makes them look meaner and not so much like a fiat.
The Comp has an upgraded turbo...

Fiesta ST 100x100
The exhaust is operated by gas flow, only on the 2019 MY does the valve work on the sport button. Up to 2019 the S4 has the same exhaust the S3 comp always had. The 2019 Monza has slightly different tips, that’s the biggest give away. One other difference no one ever seems to talk about is the fact that between the S3/4 the Brembo discs upfront became fixed instead of floating. Cheers on the review! It was fair 👍

JB CTR I was going to get a 595 Trofeo, if they had any grey ones left I’d probably have one now🤷🏼♂️ I have a performance blue ST3. You’ve commented on a couple of my Facebook posts, the slightly modified one L33 WBJ
@@lewisjones9407 Don't even want to know what you did to get an ST-3 this quickly haha-wait time was nearly a year if I ordered one last month. Went for a high specced ST-2 instead because 'm impatient :)

@@lewisjones9407 yes it bloody would😭😭 I'm glad you've got your hands on one though. To be fair I'm only waiting 4 weeks for a build to order ST-2 so the ST-3 must be massively backlogged now
I had a 595 Custom for just over a year, I had one of the very first series four’s in the UK but I gave it back to the dealership & bought myself an Abarth Grande Punto 155 which in my opinion is a better Abarth.
Never been in an Abarth Punto. Would love to give it a shot, if the 595 is anything to go by 😎
think the biggest problem for me is it's still looks like a 500, and sort of still is one. I couldn't own it purely because of the typical market for the Fiat 500 (which isn't proper manly blokes put it that way). I love the car though. Think it's a fantasic little hatch but couldn't deal with the judgement from onlookers haha
If you go through your whole life missing out on stuff you like because of what other people think about it, you are going to end up pretending to be a totally different person to the person you are, and that is sad. Whether it is a car of a hobby you have to stop giving a fuck. That is why I drive a yellow 595.
