The Story of Cholera
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 вер 2024
- A short animated film produced by the Global Health Media Project globalhealthmed... in collaboration with Yoni Goodman yonigoodman.com.
This film makes visible the invisible cholera germs as a young boy shows how to help the sick and guides his village in preventing the spread of cholera.
The film shows how to make the basic homemade oral rehydration solution using sugar, salt , and safe water as these items were felt to be most widely available. However, a solution prepared with a readymade ORS packet is the first choice if supplies are available.

For the people that don't know, the cholera was back in 2022 in Syria, tartous and ladkia. We were very sacred at first and many restaurants and grocery shops closed being terrified of it. But we managed to cure everyone and work against it. Thanks for spreading awareness ❤
im very glad you're okay! that would be very scary, you are very brave
In 2022 i was also infected by cholera but good thing i am safe
THANK YOU HOD
Cholera is going to pop up now and again no matter what happens. Most people who come into contact with it don't get sick, but it takes just one person to begin spreading contamination everywhere. Stepping up your sterilization game is a must when Cholera is around. The salt/sugar water in this video is basically Pedialyte without the flavor, and it is critical in such a situation. Nobody in a first-world country is going to carry around chlorine drops casually, but it's important in less-developed areas of the world. A contaminated cistern was responsible for the Cholera outbreak that John Snow figured out was leaking into pumped well water and causing serious deaths in the area, back in the 1800's. He got them to remove the pump handle for a time, and proved that it was indeed the source of the outbreak. He had to go to great lengths in an era where germ theory wasn't yet understood.
Wow I live in tartous and didn’t realize that we went through that ..I don’t remember any shops closing either
Are you talking about Covid?
Wait what ? U sure it wasnt Corona? I thought cholera was rottet Out?

The fact how they actually listened to the kid just proves they are very nice people
Very graphic, but I think that in this case, like the Ebola video, that graphic animation is important. Never underestimate the power of a deadly disease.
Agreed.
Affirmative.
Yes
Yes
we did a great job in not underestimating
I nearly died because of severe dehydration cause by cholera last year ( 2020)
This video reminded me of that time🙃
Very Educational video indeed❤️
I didn't know that cholera is still there. You need to make an anti-cholera formula.
Yes
God bless y'all ❤
I never knew washing your hands was so important
Really? Washing your hands is always important.
Many deadly diseases are spread through unwashed hands....everything from the flu, to typhoid, to ebola.
Washing your hands helps you keeping away germs or bacteria
I know!
and now today, this is more important than a emo kid in 1st grade thinks it is
not only did the boy help his village, but so did the nurse. her quick action and knowledge was very useful.
I am looking for this kind of video long times, finally I found it. It is so good educative for both elder and children.
Ye
We need to salute the kid, especially he saved his dad and their village of Cholerae Virus, becoming a hero is good for all, we can spread the good word deeds of our mind, especially for people who is in or like that un-urbanized areas.
Cholera is a bacterial disease. It s caused by a bacteria called Vibrio cholerae
Salute
Cholera is Caused By a Bacteria not and Virus
*Bacteria, Cholera is caused by a bacteria, not a virus.

This is good, education is important.
The media is a powerful way to educate people,
it was a smart move to make this video to educate people about things.
This kid is a hero, save his father, his village, and everyone in his village, a round of applause please!
Yes
these videos are awesome. the animation, the tips to keep you healthy, just everything.
watching this video after 9 years since it was made. I'm a doctor and it's amazing to see that how change in small habits saved so many lives. Now these habits has integrated to our lives so much that we can't imagine living without these habits. For instance, I can never imagine myself touching anything without washing my hands after using toilet.
Me after 11 years 🤝
Nice
I know some people whom for some reasons I cannot get rid of that don't do wash their hands. It's so disgusting and unsafe to be with them, but they cannot bother to wash properly, or at all.
I don't know why people lack conscience to wash their darn hands for 30 seconds, even if it's annoying. What's so hard about doing it? You said, the WHO said, and I also say, small habits (like washing hands) save lives, but many people just won't cooperate.
just one little boy and and a nurse saved the day
literal chills. this animation gives a amazing representation.
Make more! It's very interesting

So well scripted and the animation is done so amazingly. I am going to show it to my students tomorrow. Good job!!
This is more educative than school
This is as good as the other one, very touching and makes you see the from the eyes of a the amazing kid!
I used see this video when I'm 6 or 7
But now I'm 15 this is amazing thank you so much for this video
I love this video and as a Public Health student I have to admit that i was totally ignorant to how bad the problem of Cholera was until I was assigned to investigate the role it plays in under 5 mortality. It is so important to do the work that this kid did. Imagine what an effect it would have if we all joined forces. If only governments played their part and sorted out their infrastructural challenges specially during the rainy season in parts of Africa
That kid is not a child anymore
HE IS A HERO
Mhmm. True,true,true.
The kid was a real hero he not only saved his dad but also his village
Great video and animation! Who would have ever guessed that the nurse had the recipe for Gatorade. The lightning bolt in the jar at 2:00 was a nice touch.
someone give this kid an Oscar for saving a village
He saved a entire village what a hero
الحمد لله على نعمة الاسلام والنظافة
Great video. Thanks so much. I use this video when I babysit to show how important it is to wash hands, etc. I'm babysitting my 5 yr old nephew, right now, and he loves to watch this video over and over :)
🐾🖤Back then never thought washing hands was important because yes we can get sick but we can easily just get better just by drinking medicine but now that the world is on lockdown and that we are in a pandemic I now know that washing my hands, face and food is important🐾🖤
That kid is a hero! Even though he is all grown up now and told the story. He still saved hundreds of lives!
The kid should be remembered like the legends and stories too...
It shows how can a small move can make a huge change!💖
You‘re right
That kid is a hero and a life saver
This is the best examples of Animation for Development that I've seen recently. It is clear and timely and has the potential to work in similar Cholera emergencies in years to come. Well done.
Clearly, a very good reminder to people that diseases can be brutal and do anything to spread and kill...
Too bad some parts of the world, especially you America, did not listen and remember the situations.
this kid deserves a medal he save his entire village life
Ya 👌
Beautifully animated and drawn by Yoni Goodman!
Give that kid a medal
This really showcases how fast germs can spread... I mean, I knew it spread quickly and easily, but WOW.
Nostalgic vid I used to always watch this❤
Y'all should watch the Story of Ebola
i remember watching this at the age of 8-9 with my neighbour in our mom's phone

This is a must-watch video. I also love the man’s accent.
These children are such hero’s, Ebola, awareness of SA, and cholera. They are amazing and hero’s. Bless them and everyone else🙏
The boy got the achievement "Hero of the village".
Also, the cholera had infected in 1854 in London's Broad St pump where 126 people died in a cholera related. It wasn't until Dr. John Snow found out the problem and told London mayor to shut down the pump in Broad St. After that, He also told to London to change unhygienic city into a civil and hygienic city but also built the London sewerage system as to save from mass deaths from cholera.
This is impressing
I want to be like the kid in the video, for that I also want the people in my city to cooperate and stop being stubborn, I want more and more people to watch these videos and understand the grimness of these outbreaks
This is really good for every age
It has very good animations!
