2018: Amtrak P42DC's on the Pacific Surfliner

Presented in 4K - For a period of time in 2018, Amtrak GE P42DC locomotives were a common sight on the Pacific Surfliner trains. Since the Siemens Charger locomotives have taken over the Surfliner, P42DC locomotives have been far and few on the Surfline. Time will tell if these units reappear in a more common manner, but their time is also counting down, with the fast arrival of the ALC-42 locomotives.
The Surfline route sure has changed a fair amount in the recent years. From only a few years ago being dominated by EMD and GE locomotives, new Siemens Charger equipment has taken over. Whether for better or for worse, variety isn't as common as it once was.
In this lookback, you'll see the various P42DC invasion on the Surfliner route between Fullerton and San Diego throughout 2018. Featured P42DC's include: AMTK 6, 39, 41, 45, 48, 87, 99, 120, 146, 154, 155, 162, 164, 165, 167, 168, 169, 179, 183, 199, 201, 202, 205, and 206.

This is Isaiah wiley from myrtle Beach south Carolina saying hello and great amtrak video ever because when I was riding amtrak with my dad I saw lots of amtrak p42 genesis locomotives and they were my favorite locomotives because I love the k5lA horn the bell and when the the locomotive is idling in the stations and hearing the engine running,the reason I am saying all this is when I was a child I remember when was riding the texas eagle with my dad we were in fort worth texas amtrak station and right next to our train was a amtrak p42 genesis locomotive coupled with bnsf or union pacific locomotives and dad and me walked over to them and a engineer let me climbed in the p42 genesis locomotive and see the controls it was the best day of my life, anyway keep up the great work on train video making good luck.
