I own the D8 and today a friend of mine got the D9 and it just sounds so much better than my D8 and is considerably louder too as it gives you 10 extra watts to play with. On top of this, the D9 is currently selling on amazon Canada for LESS than the D8. Yup, I will be ordering the D9 very soon. The sound clarity is excellent, especially outdoors. It's an absolute BEAST!
I'm pleased with how clear the m118 sounds. It's larger enclosure accommodates those frequencies very well. When it comes to lows, having more room always helps. 😊🌎✨
For anybody interested, the M118 does loosen up and get a little bit louder once it is broken in. If you are looking for absolutely clean bass, the m118 doesn't disappoint. 😎🌎✨
I had a Megaboom that served me well for a couple of years and loved it. Used it at so many get togethers parties or when I showered. But when I was playing it a barbecue someone offered to buy it off of me they loved how it sounded. Sold it for $70 thinking im just going to upgrade to a newer megaboom. An excuse to buy something better. Ended up buying this D9 instead and sounds way better then my ex megaboom ever did.
Those Megabooms sounds pretty nice and are SUPER durable. But man, I NEVER had luck with the "party up" garbage in their app. Even the simple TWS on the W-Kings works pretty easily. I also got rid of my Megabooms (but I actually got two D8 Minis for $20 each - and even THEY sound almost as good as the Megabooms).
I got a w -king D9 -1 on 12/ 21/22 , for 77.75 total on amazon prime. The firmware update ,makes it louder not better, less low bass. Bass is ok , no deep lows . It plays clean ,but not flat ,but nothing for less than $90 can equal it . I build speaker boxes and Know what to listen for . I built my own boom box for $300 , it plays as flatter than any bluetooth boom box I've ever heard. But it cost $300 for me to build it so..

Just a thought about the handle on the W-king D9, IMHO, the flexibility on the handle actually helps it to not crack it falls on it...I think this was intentionally designed over the more rigid style that you favor!
@@KosherTech Think about it like this...if an object impacts another hard object the winner would be the hardest object...concrete, would win against plastic, but if that plastic could flex or bend when it impacts, it would "give" thus preventing fracture as a more rigid surface would likely do! The same principle in skyscrapers, they flex in the wind as to not take the full impact without giving! The key is "giving" not absorbing the full impact that leads to fracture...it's scientifically sound, think about it!

Hey man I really appreciate your videos! I've been on a bit of a bluetooth bender lately, trying to compete with my buddy's oontz angle 3xl, which unfortunately they don't make anymore. I've been through the Oontz Angle Pro (couldn't separate bass from highs, gave that one to my stepdaughter), the Aiwa Exos-3 (good speaker, not quite loud enough), the Soundcore Motion+ (great speaker, a little weak on the bass, but clear as a bell), and the Sony XB43 (garbage fire, but hey, it has lights!)...all of that to say I ended up on the W-King D9, thanks in large part to your videos, and I'm very happy with it, except for that damn handle. Thanks again for the great content. (EDIT:) Just replaced the handle on my D9 and it looks fantastic and will definitely hold up better. Would have posted a pic, but I don't think I can here. Also, just ordered a second one after using the first for a few days and thoroughly enjoying it.
$82 right now with the current coupon... I had a $20 amazon gift card so I just got mine 2 days ago for $62... I have 5 other bluetooth speakers, 6 including this one all different brands too ranging from sony to bose to jbl and a couple lesser known brands... 2 bigger, 2 smaller and 1 similar in size to the D9... as of right now this is my favorite speaker... we'll see how well it ages and if it'll stay that way but for now it's my go to! I like the slim profile and the boom box design as for the handle I don't mind it because I take care of all my speakers whether at work, home or wherever... yes they could've made a more sturdy handle but I don't know who would use their hard earned $ to buy a speaker and try and purposely break the handle... accidents will happen but as long as you're in control take care of yo 💩 lol.. but like you said the design is subjective... thx for the review! oh and I updated my firmware thru the same video lol
Kosher Tech, My D9 does not need the firmware update. It has crisp clarity and warm beefy bass. If you have a Samsung Android phone I used the tube amp pro and the adopt a sound under 30 yrs in the phones built in EQ settings.. Sounds ridiculously amazing 👏 . Use those 2 options and i keep the EQ basic on the mix. Low bass is nice and deep and clarity is crisp. Sounds amazing at all volumes. The Best speaker 😁👍🏻
Kosher Tech if you still have the other D9 without the firmware update try these settings I mentioned on the Android built in EQ.. HUGE Improvement at all volumes, makes it deeper, louder and richer. DEEP AND CRISP.. give it a shot you will be blown away with the upgraded Performance you get out of this thing without any firmware update.. 👑🏆😎👍🏻

I just got myself off of Amazon the D9 - 1 hoping it would be loud enough at the top of the vert skateboard ramp Blasting rock metal and punk tunes but I have two issues, there’s only two sounds the standard being way too Bassy With the second option sounding clearer and I would like a little bit more volume on top of this like 30 % or more... do you know of any speaker that’s louder than this one for me to try around 100 to 120 top whack.. Watching other reviews, you are on target , because the D9 is more bass at low volume, a bit not clear (over-boosted in its design vs D8)....But at higher volume ,say 65% , the low bass algorithm lets go of some bass in order to put power to highs. So it is more balanced at high volume by engineering design. To me, I think the D8 is more indoor/outdoor and the D9 is all outdoor, even tho they are not specifically advertised that way.
Review the upgraded d8, they updated buttons, USB-C charging and added tf card slot, and eq supposed be clearer. I'm not sure my if I like it my bugani m83 has more bass at max volume
I just brought one of these d8, mine is different. The battery led lights are on the right side integrated into the eq button. And it has a micro SD card. My bugani m83 has more bass too, the d8 is supposed to have the best bass??? I ordered the w-king d9 to test
I have 2 D8s and they are amazing for the money. I see no reason to get a d9 for the slight sound improvement especially considering the flimsy handle. The d8 is rock solid.
I would only recommend the d9 to someone that did not already have the d8. unless you very specifically need the extra volume. Or if you can get the $30 off coupon they do every now and then. If you can get over 65 bucks that's only 10 more than the d8 costs, at it's typical sale price But man the d9 is loud. It is much louder than the motion boom. It's really jarring when you compare them side by side.
That said it would still be extremely difficult to recommend it over something like the sound core motion boom. Because that has endless eq options. With the d9 you get two sound signatures, and the treble mode is rarely used I suspect. Even though it's twice as loud, the motion boom or d8 is plenty loud. But I would define sacrificing the volume for the EQ options available from SoundCore. The motion boom has comparable battery life and is much lighter. No tweeters though

Dsp is digital signal processing. Digital equalization, digital crossovers, digital time alignment, digital level adjustment. All things that a DSP is capable of. I'm NOT saying this unit's DSP has all those features. Probably just referring to the ability to EQ as well as preset crossover points
rather than analogue signal processing? So if you send analogue signal, like aux in then the d9 has to change it to digital to process it then change it back to analogue to go out the speakers...

That being said, as long as your source isn't absolute garbage quality, that digital to analog conversion in the DSP probably won't make an audible difference anyway. The only time the DSP gets bypassed is on a reciever that has a "pure direct" option for analog sources. You see this a lot on hometheater and home stereo receivers. I wouldn't worry about it though. The quality of the components and design is makes magnitues more of a difference than the digital to analog conversion going on in the dsp section
I’m not sure if you did this already but you should review the Logitech z313 speaker with Subwoofer I think it’s good for it’s price and deserves more people to know about it

I lastly to mostly rock music from 50s 60s 70s it's killer with that but throw on some burbons and Lacs by master p and it just absolutely pounds!!! Unreal!!!!
