The wedge will snap your spine. I'll take Malibu. At the wedge you don't surf, you go clam digging head first.

You said it. Happened to a childhood friend of mine at the wedge.. quadriplegic. I’ll take an ankle bashing at the Bu over a broken neck any day.. who wouldn’t?

Nobody is getting scorpion'd on the bottom at Malibu. Not even close, Wedge wins hands down.

The Wedge will break your board and bones, Malibu you just have to know basic defensive blocking skills.

I used to body surf the Wedge as a teen, and I've never been slammed on the bottom so hard in my life. I know one person who broke his neck there. I don't relish a fin to the face, but I'd take Malibu.

First Point Malibu is definitely more dangerous. Third Point is fine. Based on my experience this past Thanksgiving Day.

Dude. Wedge. Obviously. The weekend warriors and valley kooks at the boo is no match for the neck breaking power and shallowness of the Wedge... and you can't forget Cylinders

My only experience w/either is these videos and the earlier Bruce Brown films I watched this week. And all I got to say about one vs the other: The more things change...

Well.. I don't feel freaked out when I paddle out at Malibu where I rarely see lifeguards pulling out lifeless bodies.

no, Malibu's Way more dangerous,, when it's small at wedge majority of bodyboarders know good etiquette,, Malibu's the next destination for all the tourist that flood west LA year-round

yeah, obviously wave wise wedge takes the cake, but when you got inexperienced surf that literally will run over your head or pearl and then they come crashing down on your head or you get snaked and get your shins smacked off. There's no way around it. You're gonna get snake every wave you take.

      Miracles do happen.
Someone talked me into paddling out at first point one day at last month and I actually got a wave to myself all the way from the top of the point to the sand.
