@@wlaba272 Mazda has their “subtle ambient light package,” that brings understated lighting to the footwells, door trim plates, and a projector for the center console, an option that’s present on most models as the dealers usually option them this way. Mazda has a lot of pride, and catching up with lighting gimmicks or overdone “gamer room lights” would kinda ruin their aesthetic. Great review, thank you. I'm very interested in this car as my next car and I'm going to watch your other reviews. I have seen a few that criticize Mazda for the info screen but I don't think most people realize just how clever this system is. It's not that they have left out a touchscreen, it actually makes a huge amount of sense to take away the NEED to have to touch it. Your eyes don't need to look at the screen to see where you are touching it. Not only that but they have positioned the screen right in your line of sight at the bottom of the windscreen without impeding your view of the road (that is so annoying and distracting at night on those cars where it juts up and interferes with your lower line of sight), and the depth positioning is also a touch of class - it's pretty much exactly the same distance away from your eyes as the main instrument cluster, which means your eyes don't have to adjust the distance when glancing from one to another. Older drivers will understand what I mean by this. The position of it looks odd but now having seen this night drive it all makes sense. All in all, if the rest of the car is as well thought out and engineered as this then I'm really looking forward to booking a test drive. The outside lights are really cool too. I hope we get the same spec in the UK.
I have the same adaptive lights on my new Mazda 3. To turn on the matrix highbeams you need to have the light stalk on auto and a green highbeam indicator with an A should appear. I see you had it on low beams so it's a shame we couldn't get to see it in action. However, in my experience it only works during very dark conditions and it's very good. It reacts very fast to oncoming traffic but it is obviously not near as high resolution as Audi, Mercedes and such. But for a mainstream car, it's incredible that they even have matrix lights.
Could someone in the comments be honest and tell me if the driving position in the CX-30 feels more like a hatchback than an SUV? I have a Kia Soul, and in it, my driving position and visibility feel high enough. However, when I see a CX-30 on the streets, it looks more like a hatchback (really short) rather than an SUV, especially compared to the Toyota Corolla Cross, VW Taos, Kia Seltos, or even the Nissan Kicks. I love this car, but I would like to sit higher for better visibility. What do you think?
The CX30 is virtually identical to the Mazda3 hatchback. The seating position is quite low to the ground in both vehicles. If you are looking for a high-seating position, the CX30 is perhaps not for you.
I dont understand why the cs30 is so much cheaper than the mazda 3. The BASE model has AWD and is ~6K cheaper than the cheapest awd mazda 3 which is a smaller vehicle
Unfortunately you can't. But they've recently released a software update which makes it a lot quiter and there are now only 2 beeps. If you haven't already, go to your dealer and ask for an update.
@@SDADanCars Thank you friend, and do you only use that camera or some other?, because I would also like to start making car videos and your channel is one of the channels that has inspired me to be able to create my car UA-cam channel in Spanish😁😃
Nice video. CX=30s in the US are made in Mexico. There are few more concerns, like the piston inactivation. Is there a way around this? Does it have start/stop? How would you disable that? I have two old cars so I am waiting to see if I can get a better price as the new car market has slowed. The CX-30 might be a higher demand car.
My CX-30 is also made in Mexico, have had it for about a year now and have had no issues so far, hopefully it'll stay that way. About your about concerns: as far as I know you can't disable the piston deactivation. It does have a very smooth start/stop system - you can disable that one but you'd have to do it each time you start up the car as it resets whenever you shut the engine off.
Two thigs i find really bad: 1… half digital half analogue cluster. The digital one isn’t circular so backlight bleeding looks terrible with circle in the middle before the graphics is loaded. Cluster is either fully analogue or fully digital. Everything in between looks cheap. 2… Central infotainment is too far, too much landscape and wheel / knob operation must be annoying.
How much do you have to live under a stone to think that this annoying sounds when driving too fast makes anything safer ? Especially considering how offen those system recognise the wrong speed. It's ridiculous. It's so typical for this society.
Boring. Casual clocks on the main board, super small main display like from 2005, no ambient light... looks really, really primitive. Old men could want it but old men have no money for it and they already have cars with no ambient lights and analog clocks so they wouldn't buy it even if they had cash for it. Car for literally no one.
@@wlaba272 Sure, no problem. I'll debunk your "arguments". 1) I'm 50 and I will get mine tomorrow. Am I old enough? I pay in cash, so have money enough. Another friend of mine (55yo) bought one a couple of months ago. He's a car fanatic and LOVES it. 2) The design and the interiors have been praised and labeled as "premium", "high-end" and "luxurious" in virtually every single car review here on YT. 3) "Car for literally no one". That's the biggest BS. Just check out sales figures. This is a car for people who appreciate the elegant and sporty design, the proven reliability and for people who care about the driving experience. 4) Been voted "2020 car of the year" here in Thailand by a panel of 60 car journalists. 5) Who th cares about ambient light when buying a car!?!? 😂 You could just say that you don't like it, and that's fine, but your arguments are really not arguments at all, just biased opinions.

At last, a car with decent classy instrumentation somewhat like my current Golf MK7. No gimmicky mood colours or other distractions.
Very nice video sir, Love your character.
What about the general visibility? Don’t you find the front two windows to be very small / high window line??
Why didn‘t you tried the matrix lights? That would have been very interesting for me.
How's the lane centering in the pouring rain at night though? Would the car see them better than you?
A bit late but in my experience it works quite well as long as the lines are well defined

Is the screen the same on the cx30 ?
@@elliomboty7344 Yep. The screen is identical in both cars. There's no discernable difference in the interior of the Mazda 3 and CX-30.

pls avoid the habit of holding gear stick.
Why ? It is not a manual transmission
Both hands on the wheel all the time ia the right way to drive even with manual gearbox.
No matter the transmission, the hand has a bit of pressure, causing continuous damage to the mechanism inside.
