I had some kinfolks who lived in South Memphis down McLemore. I want to say an older cousin took us down the street to the closed down Stax studio back in the late 70s-early 80s. I went to it after it opened as a museum. Simply amazing!!!

8:08 ... this footage was shot back in 1966. The camera work is incredible. It's dynamic along with the music... so ahead of its time. It really captures the magic of Sam and Dave.

Actually I'd like to see a series. Much better suited for the large number of interesting characters.

Maria Luiza ABSOLUTELY AGREED! One MAJOR question though about Issac Hayes. The narrator clearly stated that Issac was an ORPHAN, but; LIVED WITH HIS GRANDMOTHER. Hmmmmmmmm..? How is that even possible. To be an orphan, ( completely alone. NO siblings, no cousins known, NO ONE OF THE SAME BLOOD FROM YOUR MOTHER OR FATHER'S SIDE OF THE FAMILY ANYWHERE. ) That's what an orphan is. An EXTREMELY SAD situation to be in at any age. Let alone, childhood. But they know and he LIVES WITH HIS GRANDMOTHER! So somebody is lying here and they REALLY need to work on how they go about lying to fill out the back story for him. Like ALL back stories, they are fabrications anyhow. So it's truly not that important. However, you at least want them to be BELIEVABLE!

Hey there! Are there any other links for Stax Records out here to show kids? I'm so disappointed that a couple videos I used to share are no longer available.

So Stax records was white and black people making music together and allow them to be free
