    @Blenkinsop999 When I was a small boy my brothers and I thought nothing of bathing in the small stream that came straight out of the side of The john Dickinson Mill.....the stream was a sort of greeny dirty brown colour!!
    Have you any old pics of how John Dickinsons Mill used to look?.......Have you a site for your photos?
    I dont know of Lemon field........I used to live in Louvain way!

    @Blenkinsop999 Yes.....Shame about the Clarendon arms!!.......If youre ever out and about in Rousebarn lane /Green lane/Cassiobury park /Whippendell woods /etc etc with your Video camera and you fancy doing some filming.........Yes please!! I was brought up in this area over 50 years ago.....I havent lived near there for years!

    At least we didn’t have food banks and a stripped economy then - even under that particular tory government. Now look at the UK. People managed then, they didn’t go hungry. Nobody had much money (unless a millionaire and they were scarce then), but it was better generally, even though we didn’t have much. My most treasured memories are of the 1980s, even though I love my family just as much now, but the 1980s were a different time, life was so much simpler. Now it’s tough for most people.
