Thank you for this. As someone who is also susceptible to bouts of depression and tends not to buy the typical "Everything's Going to Be Okay" speeches, this really spoke to me. I appreciate you acknowledging that this world is a really sucky place in many ways and providing encouragement, not to carry on as though things were okay, but to persist with an aim to make things suck a little less. You, sir, should do a TED Talk.
I found your bit about science and suffering very interesting to listen to. I'm a med student, and we've had similar discussions in class - yes, science is going forward, and yes, technology allows us to extend someone's life... but at what cost? We're slowly starting to realize what doing so might cost us, ethically speaking. It's a very difficult topic to address, but a very interesting one. "Scientific discoveries" doesn't necessarily rhymes with progress, and it often comes at the price of someone's suffering... I think there is a lot to discuss on that front. Thank you for giving us much to think about!

I’ve been dealing with very acute c-ptsd for the last decade. It’s something that I’ve tried to “heal” and process in many ways. I’m in a continuous cycle of paralysis and I “freeze” in mental/physical ways I struggle a bit to control.
I’m exhausted and came looking for some kind of mental soothing or distraction.
I found instead one of those unique gems that make you feel like they’re speaking to you personally. It was truly helpful…

I recently discovered I have Aphantasia, and it has explained so much for me. For example, 99% of novels I’ve ever read bored me to tears. Why? Because when they start describing a scene, I can’t picture it properly in my head. I suck at art because I can only rely on trial and error and a bit of logic.
I think learning to accept your difficulties is hard, but also really important. I’m lucky that I have a name and explanation for some of mine, it makes them easier to accept.
You’ve got to realise, most of what you struggle with is not your fault, whether you can deal with it yourself or not.
Tonight I had a crème de la crème marathon, Latte, Angelica and this.
Sounds delightful.

I use to read a couple books a week. These days (the last few years) I let narrators on youtube read to me and I love it. I get enjoyment, information, some scares, etc. from some really neat people. A couple of people in real life judge me for this and make fun of me a bit, but I don't give a shit about all that anymore, I manage my own life okay.

Ok, listen. I've been setting up my 'sound recording corner' for purely vocal stuff for a few months now. I've got the soundproof, the microphone, the filters and all the external stuff ready. And this week, as I've been told to stay home and get over my mundane cold, the proper earphones arrived. I needed to start my comment like that, because I love your content no matter how I consume it (usually it's through the speakers, for I quite like the way your voice reverberates in the room my working/art PC is at). I did start listening to this one like that (you're still you, your dry humour hidden between the dark statements is what I'm always grateful for). But now I'm experiencing this through the proper earphones. And oh dear, I'm so re-watching every video of yours. All the nuance you put into recording the smallest sounds - it is amazing even when experienced through some small earbuds, but it is indeed a glorious sound painting I can now appreciate in full. Thank you.

Since this is a bit... tmi, I'm adding this as a small note.
A friend of mine passed away tonight after enduring a long surgery (that, ironically, went well; her heart just stopped at night, she apparently didn't suffer), and I physically needed this video to take a step further than denial. I can't properly tell you how much you helped. Just believe me, it's... a lot. And I thank you for that, too.
