How To Cool Down A Heat Stressed Dog | Your Vet Online

It's getting hot out there 😳 🥵
Make sure you can recognise the signs of heat exhaustion in your pets and act fast!
1. Heavy panting
2. Laying down and reluctance to move
3. Seeking shad
4. Bright red tongue and gums
5. Regurgitation and/vomiting
6. Diarrhoea
7. Collapse, seizure, coma
It's better to be safe than sorry.
If you think your pet might be too hot act immediately.
1. Cool them down - cold water hose, shower, bath, tub whatever way you can.
2. If they are standing and panting as stopped offer a SMALL drink of water - 100ml max for dogs 50ml for cats
3. If they continue to pant and are reluctant to stand - take them to a vet IMMEDIATELY
Death is imminent if you don't act fast.
