A few years ago, a girl with the Vietnamese name Nguyen Ngoc Quynh (currently living in Boston, Massachusetts, USA) traveled back to Vietnam many times to find her family. Quynh is the name that the teachers at the orphanage gave her to make documents to sponsor her to go abroad, not the name given by her parents.
According to the information recorded in the old documents, Quynh was abandoned at an orphanage near the Tay Ninh Holy See in February 1995. At that time, she was only about 9 months old. The teachers made a birth certificate for Quynh, stating her date of birth as June 20, 1994. In May 1995, Quynh was adopted by a family in New York, USA.
Quynh confided that she had returned to Vietnam many times, to the orphanage in Tay Ninh to search for her. But because there was so little information, without the mother's or father's names, the search was difficult. Quynh said that she had matured and thought more maturely than before.
Quynh understood the difficult life of the time when she was abandoned, so she did not resent or blame anyone. She wanted to reunite with her mother and learn more about her family's stories. Quynh confided that she had returned to Vietnam several times and loved her homeland very much.
As soon as she saw the information about Quynh's search for her mother, Ms. Le Thi Quyen spoke up and said that there were many coincidences between her story and Quynh's. Ms. Quyen suspected that Quynh was the daughter she had lost for the past 30 years.
Ms. Quyen said that she had feelings for a man named Cao Quoc Tuan in the past, but was not accepted by her family. Ms. Quyen left home to live with Mr. Tuan in Bau Nang commune, Duong Minh Chau district, Tay Ninh province. The two borrowed a piece of land, built a hut to live in and opened a tailor shop.
Around 1993 - 1994, Mrs. Quyen gave birth to a baby girl and named her Cao Thi Tuyet Nuong. However, Mrs. Quyen's life was very miserable, hungry, and often beaten.
Because of her hardship, Mrs. Quyen decided to leave her child with her husband and go to work far away, hoping to earn money to raise her child. However, after a while, she heard that her daughter had been sent to an orphanage by her grandmother.
