In addition to hyzer flip-to-flat for peering woods gaps, I use a Spin in Electron plastic as a utility putting putter, when I need some help getting turn around a tree that is in my line. My main putting putter is Anode, which has that same curve underside rim. But no bother because always a fan grip whether putting or driving. Perhaps you needed to bank off a tree to get your Ace with the Spin ;)
Randomly got a 132g spin a few years ago. From first throw it's never left the bag; either long putts or straight to understable approaches. Definitely underrated!
This is a great video! I've been throwing the spin for a few years, and I actually just switched to putting with them as well. They are great for spin putting because they have so much glide.
The spin, ironically, is a terrible putter for a spin putter, but one of the best push putters ever made. The lower speed from a push putt coupled with the Spin's understability keeps it moving very straight and flat, and its lack of glide makes it drop very fast at the end of its flight. It's very good for a Ricky style arching push putt. Whereas on a spin putt it tends to pull right from its understability and drops too fast for the intended laser straight line to the basket most spin putters want.
Hey you should try the Westside discs Swan Reborn. It's a flippy putter that has been a staple in my bag for several years and I use it for longer putts when I can't reach it with my Pures. Love your content, keep it up!!
I like it and in my experience it's pretty similar to the PA-5 (haven't thrown a Fierce). I do however bag the PA-5 instead of the Spin since I don't really like the funky rounded inner rim of the Spin. But I love how the Spin flies.
I absolutely love my Spin for nose-up floaty approaches. It does take a little bit to get used to the feel of the rim though. If you're looking for a similar feel, the Swan from Westside has a similar rim shape but is not quite as flippy
I bag a basic and a R2 of this and I love it. Turns over fine with my arm speed and makes me go to the sidearm a lot less than I have to (Im 45 so my arm isnt what it used to be)
I recently switched to putting and throwing the Discmania Notion. It’s also an understable putter. I have an exo soft one thats beat and warped and is a perfect steep hyzer flip to slow turn disc when you really power up on it.
I've been bagging a spin for around a year maybe now. Really really handy disc. I especially like to throw it on a steep spike hyzer angle on low ceiling shots. It pushes and pushes, goes straight and then dies with almost no ground play
You should try the rest of the MVP 2.5 speed lineup. They all have that rounded inner rim, which im personally a huge fan of. Been putting with Anodes for a while and they're great, also laser straight as throwing putters. Haven't tried the ion but it seems to be a well-liked disc
Your question at 14:40 is exactly what gyro does. It takes more initial energy to generate gyroscopic spin, but it will maintain gyroscopic stability for longer which causes a gyroscope, or in this case a disc, to be more resistant to inertial change which includes from things like the wind. So it will maintain its relative stability more effectively and longer.
Give yourself some credit, your forehand has improved tremendously. You're not throwing forehand throllers because you can now forehand anything. You have achieved that ability. The discs are great, but so are you.
One disc I find to be underrated for flippy purposes is the Discaft Sol. With numbers of 4 5 -3 0 you’d think it’ll be hard to throw, but it’s amazing as a hyzer flip up for tight shots/turnovers
This round was my entire disc golf experience. Notice or be surprised about the same thing every single time...just years later I haven't figured most of it out lol.
I used to use a fierce as my throwing putter. eventually had to swap to something with a little more integrity/control and ever since I picked up an eclipse proxy I've never looked back. a buddy of mine throws the spin and the two of us argue which is the superior thrower all the time. we just have slightly different "wants" from our throwers tbh, they're both great.
Spin for the win. An r2 spin has been in the bag over a year. It definitely can turn n burn when ripped flat but low speed flat or can power up a little with Hyzer and it does some beautiful floaty flippy things. My first mvp disc I loved despite not great hand feel. Doesn’t feel bad just strange.
If I'm remembering correctly. The Ion, Anode, and the Spin all use the same flight plate, just different overmolds to get different stability and glide.
Recently got a spin from Marshal, same color. I thought it would be less stable for sure, plasma watt was a lot more workable. The spin is a lot touchier, but I also think that most these MVP approach discs show their turn late in the flight. You need to actually lay into some of them.
Spins are dope. I threw one for a couple of years. Finally beat a proxy in bad enough to match the flip but i may snag another since old lemonades getting a little too beat up.
I like the spin. I have one in base plastic but when the glitch (now watt) came out I switched. Honestly the spin and proxy probably were an overlapping spot in the bag so now it is proxy and watt.
I tried liking the Spin and Fierce because I love flippy throwing putters but they are just too deep for my hand to get a comfortable grip. Then I found the PA-5!
deputy feels the best and has similar flight maybe more stable. Can you please do Luna vs Atom??? different flight numbers different profiles but im curious how they actually compare.
I never loved the spin feel but liked its flight. I didn’t like it for hyzerflips but more for left to right or for anhyzer approach shots. I switched to the glitch and haven’t looked back.
For me at lower elevation the spin was too flippy and the watt is now a perfect US putter that putts a smile on my face with its stand up hyzers and late flips. Kicked the fierce out of the bag but I’m an mvp fan
PA5s are an understandable disc that doesn't feel terrible in the hand. 400 plastic starts to turn quicker. 500 will go straight then start turning. Both flights are different enough that I can justify them both being in the bag.
I had a proton spin years ago and gave it to some kids playing with only dx drivers. If I had known they would be impossible to find years later I would have given them my Lat Mercy instead Not a bad round for the wind and for someone that doesn't seem to throw many flippy putters. Some of your shots were dead straight but right maybe because you were counting on the disc to fade? Anyway enough arm chairing from me...thanks for the nice light hearted video just enjoying disc golf.
The mvp marketing team has a couple psychologists on there that are just racking up the dough for that company. They know how to advertise to manipulate the buyer that is for sure.
It's the wing of the Spin disc. That shape allows it to "cut" through the air. Combine that with the gyroscopic precession of the spin allows the disc to be more resilient in flight.
Thank you for 45k subscribers!
The giveaway discs are feeling awfully secure in my basement waiting for 50k but loving the journey. Appreciate you :)
That double up was crazy 🙇🙇
Let’s go! 🎉 so close to 50k!!!
YOU are one of the "Most UNDERRATED Disc Golfers" (According to me and my mom). Keep it up! Much love Bonanbanana
Is your mom from Broadview Hts?
She’s definitely not from Brecksville
Meat ride much
LMAO the dive into the mic "I'm Sad" made my morning

Great video! Thanks for the great disc review!
Would be cool to see you try the super soft Prodigy line-up. In there you'll find the super soft PA-5, that is also a flippy putter like these.
You came over from broderic didnt you
Hey you should try the Westside discs Swan Reborn. It's a flippy putter that has been a staple in my bag for several years and I use it for longer putts when I can't reach it with my Pures.
Love your content, keep it up!!
One of the go-to get out trouble shots in my bag is touch forehands with a Fierce. Been doing it for years, love them for that shot.
I like it and in my experience it's pretty similar to the PA-5 (haven't thrown a Fierce). I do however bag the PA-5 instead of the Spin since I don't really like the funky rounded inner rim of the Spin. But I love how the Spin flies.
Spin and fierce are both huge weapons down here in the woods of TN. Spin in electron is a good putting putter too.
I absolutely love my Spin for nose-up floaty approaches. It does take a little bit to get used to the feel of the rim though. If you're looking for a similar feel, the Swan from Westside has a similar rim shape but is not quite as flippy

That's a very nice thing to say. You seem nice. Please have a nice day
That pic of the weather got me jealous Monday it’s gonna be a high of -10 here before windchill 😢
I think Simon has been bagging the Spin for over a year.
One disc I find to be underrated for flippy purposes is the Discaft Sol.
With numbers of 4 5 -3 0 you’d think it’ll be hard to throw, but it’s amazing as a hyzer flip up for tight shots/turnovers

Well and electron envy love.
If I'm remembering correctly. The Ion, Anode, and the Spin all use the same flight plate, just different overmolds to get different stability and glide.
I bag a Spin and it's awesome. Hyzer flip to turn over out dead straight. Nice nose up touch approaches. And...... It's just super fun.
Noice round! Super cool double ace at the end
Wish we could get more of the green side filming angles!
I love that course, it's a must play when I visit Colorado. Planning on heading that way in April.
Is this the course in Arvada?
I like the spin. I have one in base plastic but when the glitch (now watt) came out I switched. Honestly the spin and proxy probably were an overlapping spot in the bag so now it is proxy and watt.
My Go to putter is a fierce! I love that i can throw it straight when putting and i dont havve to worry to much about getting off line!
You should make a video of “discs that make ya happy to through”
I tried liking the Spin and Fierce because I love flippy throwing putters but they are just too deep for my hand to get a comfortable grip. Then I found the PA-5!
CHECK OUT THE MIRAGE BY INNOVA, FLIPPY SHALLOW 3 SPEED
Exactly why I use the pa5. The 400 and 500 offer different flights so they are both in the bag
I woke up to pee at 2am to a new bodanza video? Guess I'll go back to sleep later.
Do you think the pa5 would also be a good comparaison?
The shape and flight of the MVP Spin reminds me of a putter version of the Axiom Paradox
I bag a discraft fierce, a prodigy pa-5, an innova mirage, and a dynamic discs deputy. flippy putters are the best.
the rounded rim helps me forehand the spin cleanly. approach shots only though.
PA5's are my favorite flippy throwing putters
deputy feels the best and has similar flight maybe more stable. Can you please do Luna vs Atom??? different flight numbers different profiles but im curious how they actually compare.
Spin is the most used disc in my bag, without a doubt. For reference, I mostly play tight wooded courses.
I never loved the spin feel but liked its flight. I didn’t like it for hyzerflips but more for left to right or for anhyzer approach shots. I switched to the glitch and haven’t looked back.
Hell yea, spin got me my first ace
Same here!
rhbh it always goes right i love my spin been rocking one since simons og back vid for mvp
Would love to nab that spin off of you! Lost mine not to long ago and I only throw purple.
I just got one of these in November, it’s siiiick!!
Yo Anthony. You should try and come out to Wisconsin this upcoming year and make some content! We have a bunch of nice courses out here
The spin is one of the best scramble discs on the market. Driving. Putting. Meh. Get out of jail. Perfect
For me at lower elevation the spin was too flippy and the watt is now a perfect US putter that putts a smile on my face with its stand up hyzers and late flips.
Kicked the fierce out of the bag but I’m an mvp fan
I am pretty close to you. -12 tonight and -18 on Monday. Disc golf is closed in my area, so I will not be fighting these conditions.
Love my spin. It is my dead straight throwing putter. My only ace disc this far!
ooooo the new infinite jacket. I need one!
I'll stick with the Prodigy Pa-5.
Take a jawbreaker roach, throw it for a month and you've got a predictable, glidey, flippy, putter. They feel pretty similar as well IMO.
PA5s are an understandable disc that doesn't feel terrible in the hand.
400 plastic starts to turn quicker. 500 will go straight then start turning. Both flights are different enough that I can justify them both being in the bag.
You’ve gotta review the ruby, best flippy putter ever
Ion has same nner core as spin, you should try it, it's their OG disc
My Deputy felt really sad watching this video. Nothing against you, it just knew it could have been a contender, it could have been somebody.
Same, with BoDan always mentioning his small hand the deputy is where it's at and it's what pierce putts with.
Looks like you got your Simon moment.
I had a proton spin years ago and gave it to some kids playing with only dx drivers.
If I had known they would be impossible to find years later I would have given them my Lat Mercy instead
Not a bad round for the wind and for someone that doesn't seem to throw many flippy putters.
Some of your shots were dead straight but right maybe because you were counting on the disc to fade?
Anyway enough arm chairing from me...thanks for the nice light hearted video just enjoying disc golf.
PA5 and Reborn Swan are some of the most flippy putters ive throw. And i have thrown fierce.
JPR back in action
23:10 😂😂
have you thrown a pa-5??? awesome flippy putter out of the box
Id argue - although not being made anymore - that the fission music city open proxy is more understable than spin
we need mvp to make a Proton Spin!
Ohh I bag one!! It is a great disc!!
Lol I don't think that guy was trying to assert his dominance. I think he was being sarcastic.
Nah he was wearing shorts. These people are sick!
or maybe he likes cold weather and was just being friendly. thinking he was asserting dominance is WILD! 🤣🤣 and telling.
Electron spin is my putting putter. Didn't like spin as throwing putter. Ion has also rounded rim and same thing with that disc.
Idk if I've seen anyone do Toro v Pig review! Also why does Vinny like the pig? There's some content for ya.
Ruby are by far the most understable disc putter out there
Pa5. Shallower hand feel than the Spin and Fierce.
You need to throw a pa5. Best out of the box hyzer flip putter ever made.
Watt>Spin. Spins are too touchy. the precipice between staying straight/hyzering out and flipping over is a fine line.
Great vid. Looked like a ton of fun
You ever just try and score at Johnny? What's your best round?
The mvp marketing team has a couple psychologists on there that are just racking up the dough for that company. They know how to advertise to manipulate the buyer that is for sure.
Jo from another round is doing it right. sit on one hole until you ace it. this is how you learn to ace on command.
Very Nice ending!
if flight numbers are made up doesnt each company get to define what a 1,2,3 speed etc is for themselves and their line up?
Did anyone else think Timmy Turner with Cosmo and Wanda discs
R2 Spin is money
Pa5 and the sonic even though it is a 1 speed
Spin 😀
It's the wing of the Spin disc. That shape allows it to "cut" through the air. Combine that with the gyroscopic precession of the spin allows the disc to be more resilient in flight.
Nobody wants to see the forehand, correct
*Spoilers*
Nj on those aces!
100th!
