Great vid! I'm impressed with how well you managed to use what is basically a love song for a non-romantic vid. I love that line about rock, rose, and fist. The song is great for Janeway. And my answer is that she's as strong as she has to be, that she's a rock and a fist as necessary even as she's akin to a rose or a breath after a kiss in terms of human vunerability. *grin*
Oh Janeway’s the strongest person ever. 😁 She could stare down the barrel of any enemy ship that crossed her path. She was no nonsense and held her own when getting her crew home. 😁
Thanks! Ya know, I started this as a pairing video (because it is a love song) but as I put it together, it screamed to be more of a J/Crew, J/Voyager video (don't know why but glad you think it worked) :). And, I'm diggin' your answer--it's spot on!
@TheChoujinVirus You know, it's funny--I think Kirk and Janeway are the most alike out of all the Starfleet Captains. They both do their own thing, break the rules when they know that following them is wrong, and don't let anyone fuck with their crew or ship. And woe betide you if you cross either of them! (Well..maybe that last one is just Janeway...hehehehehee, she does rock.)
I don't like voyager all that much, thought Janeway was a terrible captain most of the time. HOWEVER - I think this video is really good and actually made me like or just a bit more. Lol, thats a lot for me to admit. Good job, I really enjoyed this.
This is brilliant! Go Janeway! I know this isn't in this video, but does any1 know what the episdoe was when Janeway gets part of her hair cut by Kim and B'Elann? She's got her head on a rock at the time if that helps!!!
No offense taken, differences of opinions are wonderful. But I reckon that Janeway got promoted when she was fairly young (38/39) by captain's standards because she was an outstanding officer. Starfleet don't sling anyone into captain's chairs, they've got to have a brain in their heads. Janeway and Picard both have gravitas, they both have different merits. She's a trained officer, otherwise she wouldn't be there. & Riker and LaForge are the biggest children of all characters, not the VOY crew.
Hmm... I see how age can vary greatly. However, I would say that Riker is well adjusted and Geordi is simple a little outcast because of his sight. Paris is the one who plays Captain Proton and it never seemed like there was ANY tension between Chikotay and Tuvok until that one episode where Chikotay came out and announced it to Tuvok. TNG, I think, does a much better job with the neuances of sociology and sophisticated humor.
Good point. 30, 31 right? A different era of Starfleet, but they seem to take experience and talent into account as well as length of service and age. We can assume that all the leading character captains in Star Trek proved themselves to be leaders and very adept as younger officers, regardless or not whether you like a particular character or not. Personal opinion doesn't reflect on their skills. Kirk was a fairly young captain as was Janeway, I presume as a result of meritorious service.
Emond900 - Tuvok would respect anyone following her true nature, even as he has chosen to sublimate his emotions as is the Vulcan way. I don't think Katherine Janeway would truthfully give a rat's ass about Chakotay's *respect*, he made it clear in numerous situations that he doesn't *respect* her anyway - although he says the words, he doesn't walk the talk. And don't get me started on Tom - would she even want the respect of a bloke whose greatest achievement is getting the Chief Engineer?
No offense to anyone who likes Voyager, but I really don't like Janeway as a captain, the whole crew is so childish. "There's coffee in that nebula" "I don't like bullies, I don't like threats" Yes, some of them are amusing, but TNG did such a better job of making them sound like they came from a trained officer rather than a teenager. (Janeway seems to be a CAPTAIN at 38 or so)

I think this song suits her pretty well, good job! I love Janeway, she's always been my favorite.
This is a very beautiful video! A wonderful tribute to Star Trek's leading lady!
I knew exactly who sang this right off. I'm a fan of Alexz Johnson. Loved how this song described Janeway.
Just a wonderful vid. This is what I cherish about Voyager and Janeway, how strong she is.

Thanx! I'm glad you loved it and I appreciate the feedback.

As has B'Elanna (Roxann Dawson) become a director and producer. Some of my current fave TV shows have her imprint - Lost, The Closer, and Cold Case.
I hear you guys, very motherlike!
Thank YOU for the fb and comment. Glad you enjoyed it.
:D I wouldn't go as far to say I am a convert! Just someone who appreciated your good work!

well, age considered, Kirk was a little over 30 when he made captain.
