You need to shorten the width of the body parts to as minimum as possible . What I mean here is that you need to occupy as small a width as possible to generate good force. Keeping the arms wide will eventually end up in not only creating the drag , but can injure your shoulder as well.
I disagree entirely with your assessment that the most important thing she can do to improve her stroke is to work on her upper body mechanics. What stands out to me is the rhythm and the mechanics of her kicking in relation to her stroke. She has a very symmetrical kicking pattern and her legs are coming down very far from her trim line, which is hurting her stroke. It's as if she is trying to replicate a motor boat, using her legs and arms as propellers. If she wants to improve her stroke, she should kick less frequently, and think of her legs as being the end of a whip, rather than a propeller. Like a whip, the energy for the kick should be generated as a wave that begins from the shoulder and propagates through the body, working smoothly to position the body for the next stroke.
We are based in Australia but we are about to release a virtual freestyle clinic which follows exactly the same structure that we teach in our clinics here in Oz

I thought your friend was pretty good... till you showed the pro side by side! Great bit of analysis man.

This is a very good analysis
I can tell big difference when you showed the pros straightaway, the technique has full control of the movement.
