Duane Allen is one of my all time favorite lead singers. He sings with meaning and expression and has the voice of an angel,smooth as silk and rhythmic as a ocean breeze. The backup vocals for this song are sung by his wife of nearly 50 years Mrs. Norah Lee Allen,his daughter, Mrs. Jaime Allen- Martin and son-in-law Paul Martin.

Same here Darla. I lost my wife of 54 years nearly 3 years ago, and God has blessed me with a wonderful lady. She was my wife`s best friend, and has now become my best friend. This song suits her and I to a T.

I’m sorry for your loss, Richard. I’m sure your late wife nudged God and told Him that she had an idea for a companion for you and He agreed. I’m still listening to this song numerous times a day - not sure why since it’s not personally applicable - I guess I just like hearing it!
