Storage garage door locked from the inside. Whatever they were doing they didn't want to be seen. The boy told his family he was going to the gym but went to Romeo's instead.

my childhood friend’s father committed suicide this way with an old car they had in a backyard standalone garage back in 2020. i remember playing around in and around that garage with her and my sister in the 2000s. my friend ended up being the one to find him that way. this story breaks my heart and i wonder if it wasn’t accidental at all.
Even smart people do unsmart things. We had a Boy Scout leader did this one time at a cold weather camp, stayed in his car with the engine running for heat. Never woke up.

It seems sadly like a suicide pact, those being highly ambitious, & good natured still can struggle with depression & suicidal thoughts. there are symptoms that you will start to feel... it can take less than 5 minutes-1 hour to kill you just depending on how much youre inhaling and the space youre in. Carbon monoxide replaces the oxygen in your body with itself and without oxygen the organs and body shuts down. The first symptoms are headache, dizziness, and nausea. If you start feeling those symptoms you need to get out immediately because it will make you fall asleep and never wake up... you may or may not feel the symptoms before since the poisoning can kill you faster than you can even form the headache. If they were smoking weed they may have thought those feelings were from the cannabis but we need a full toxicology report to know.

There was a couple here in San Diego who came back from a long trip to China. The husband thought he should fire up the cars since they’d been sitting in the garage for some time and left the kitchen door to the garage open. Then they both fell asleep. You know the rest. 😢

Now that you mention it. All cars should have alarms for CO2 because even a bad leak in the exhaust can kill people with out being in an enclosed space. .
