      Girl it’s the soft life at its best! 🤭 It’s definitely the best kept secret because I never knew what an infusion nurse was or that it even existed!! I was truly missing out for YEARS! I love this little life now! 🫶🏽

    Hey!! Yesss! I definitely have questions! How does one who has minimal IV experience get into infusion nursing? Should I take a training?

    • @iamnursechelsea
      @iamnursechelsea  4 місяці тому +1

      Heyy girl! ☺️ Great question too, I would say it depends on how minimal your experience is. I think two years is plenty of IV experience, and I’m sure you can still get into infusion nursing with just two years of IV experience!
      If you want to add more to your resume, I don’t think it’s necessary to pay for a class, but working in the ER or ICU will look great on your resume because it shows you have consecutive experience. I also was certified and trained in putting in ultrasound IVs in the ER, having that on your resume is a bonus as well!

    Hello I just had a interview for a iv infusion company the clinic specializes in allergy and rheumatology. I’m excited hopefully they pick me but with you working in an office setting do you find it difficult to use PTO and finding someone to cover your patients?

    • @iamnursechelsea

      Hi! Oh my gosh!! I’m so excited for you love! 🫶🏽 I pray they will choose you as well.
      Great question, so they have “field support PRN” nurses that they can fly to areas in the US to cover the nurses. If they can’t find coverage, the manager themselves will fly out and fill your day. If the manager can’t, they could always move your patient appointments to a different day if worse comes to worse. So I would say that I never get denied pto. They are very supportive of taking time off and just an overall healthy work environment.
      My manager is also a millennial which is probably why he’s AMAZING and so easy going. 🥰 Will you reach out to me on Instagram to update me when you get the job! I want to hear about your experience and definitely stay connected! 😊

      Absolutely, having a job where you can have a work life balance is a must as a nurse. We definitely need our "me time" while traveling! Yes, I look forward to hearing from you soon on it! :)

    Just found ur channel 🩵 i have always been interested in infusion nursing. Do you work at a hospital or an outpatient type clinic?
    Also would you be able to make a video on IV tips & tricks? 🙂

    I have a question. I know you can’t film the patients. But how is that for you? The relationships, the ones that come for one time infusions or repeated ones? I work in acute care but I send the patients home & don’t see that again. So I’m curious of the repeated patients coming back & how that feels as a nurse? 😊

    • @iamnursechelsea
      @iamnursechelsea  2 місяці тому +1

      Hi Sophie! Thank you for watching! ☺️ Great question, so the relationships with all (about 300 or more) patients that I see in a year are awesome. I’ve probably only had an issue with two patients who are no longer infusing at my suite. But the issue was never to the magnitude of what I encountered in the ER.
      I actually love catching up with my patients with our gossip, girlie chit chats (because most of my patients are women), life chats! They bring me candy and doughnuts lol! It’s really a 180 experience from the hospital, and the physicians support us as nurses which is something I didn’t see often in the ER. 🥰
      I recommend you look into an infusion center, I don’t work with oncology, just rheumatology and some neuro patients with MS. But all my patients are truly sweethearts and have been seeing the physicians for over 15 years, so it’s a close relationship. The nurse previous to me that I took over for worked here for 10 years, so that says A LOT! 😁

      Of course! And nope, you may have to get some IV skills experience but that is the main part. Most roles will train you on the job as well. ☺️
