Suggestion for a VFX Artists React video: Godzilla Final Wars. It's a kaiju movie from twenty years ago with power rangers, gun fu fights, Cylons, the ID4 mothership, a flying submarine, Don Frye with a katana, the entire wardrobe department from the Matrix sequels if it were redesigned by Hugo Boss, and oh by the way Godzilla shows up. Since the film was produced for nearly $20M, it has some surprisingly good special effects (that still hold up today) and some shockingly *bad* effects, often composited into the same shots. More importantly, though: the film is pure bugnuts insanity. It's every boss battle you dreamt of when you were six years old, combined with every action movie trope of the last thirty years. I had assumed that Wolverine's arms are Hugh Jackman's arms. In real life Hughj has had skin cancer issues. So the shots of him that were filmed outside use sleeves to protect the actor. When they're in a studio they can go sleeveless. But with all the background noise and lights there will need to be plenty of CG updates to his arms to match the background. Real arms.
Could be part of the script (or improvisation) that they removed the sleeves.... but that created a continuity error in a scene they filmed earlier (or moved during editing) and had to fix with CGI.
Everyone keeps bringing up that he had sleeves to prevent him developing skin cancer again, if that's the reason, why doesn't he have the mask on at all times when he's outdoors? It would be more protection especially since the area he's had the most problem with is his nose.
My fiancé showed me the music video a couple of weeks ago and I couldn’t believe all the hard work that went into a music video. It’s crazy high production and I love watching it more than listening to it 😅
Have you guys checked out the visual effects in the old Telugu movie 'Mayabazar' (1957)? It's a classic Indian film that used some pioneering techniques for its time. Despite being made over six decades ago, the creativity and ingenuity behind its special effects are truly impressive. It’s a fascinating example of early VFX work that holds a special place in Indian cinema history!

@@iaadsi I love that episode! It was the one where Mulder ended up getting three wishes at the end of the episode! And one of them was for world peace, and she Meaning the Djinn, basically made everyone else disappear except for her and Mulder so he had to use his second wish to bring everybody back!😅😅
I’ll bring it up again, but the final scene where Hugh Craine comes out of the painting in The Haunting (1999) with Liam Neeson. The way they were able to accomplish such high detail when he was also being sealed away. Good stuff. Plenty of other shots in that film too. 🎉 great square space ad btw.
I say it all the time: There's a mountain of old school VFX ripe for reacting. Check out the "woman melting scene" in Dead Heat (1988). You could do an entire episode on the nearly flawless matte and comp work of Jim Danforth -- specifically his work on "When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth." There's a scene where it blends from live action plate into animated egg hatching and it's basically seamless.

I don’t how, but the cuts and the edit in this whole video is soooo much more rapid than you other ones. I feel like it is just wayy too fast. Hats off to the sponsored segment though, was amazing 🔥
Black Hawk Down. It's at the point in history where CG was good but limited, it has some impressive practical effects, and there's a BTS VFX reel with a bunch of breakdowns that gives you a bunch of answers and shot breakdowns. I've seen a crappy copy on UA-cam, but it's probably on the DVD or Bluray in higher res.
Yo. bullshit that music video was INSANE. It looked like someone did a montage video of a song to some random movie scenes at certain point the CGI was so good.
Ronnie loves to reference movies and games all the time in his videos and songs! He also does let's plays on his twitch when he's not on tour. He's mentioned how he loves movies like Lord of the Rings and The Matrix.
There's a great scene from Haxan (1922) where witches are flying over a town. Involves cool usage of miniature combined with live actors. Would highly recommend diving into it on the show!
The miniature apartment for animals comes from Xing Zhilei, who is hard to track down for original videos that don't require signing into a Chinese website and translating. He used to have an active youtube channel, according to one blog, but it's since been shut down. I find mostly reposts of videos with excessive commentary and overlays. It's a shame a clean version was never preserved. He has other videos, but most of them get interrupted with having to sign in or excessive overlays of comments from the social media platforms they are hosted on.
That’s so frustrating! I was trying to find and thought maybe I was doing something wrong. Hopefully this will bring him some attention and encourage him to come back to UA-cam, cause I desperately need to see more of this!

OMG yes, that was one of the finest VFX shots of the decade and it got completely unnoticed. A damn funny episode too.
@@iaadsi I love that episode! It was the one where Mulder ended up getting three wishes at the end of the episode! And one of them was for world peace, and she Meaning the Djinn, basically made everyone else disappear except for her and Mulder so he had to use his second wish to bring everybody back!😅😅
With all the BTS photos, this one aged like milk a bit with Hugh Jackman.
I just saw some BTS stuff, real arms indeed
Kung Pow: Enter the Fist remains one of my favourite examples of VFX-based-films - definitely deserves another going over (or deep dive) on the show!
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has a lot VFX for you guys to react to. Especially when the car becomes a boat to get away from the pirates and when it flies
Update: A bunch of BTS pics and footage were posted. His arms were NOT CGI!
I think this is probably one of three times I didn't skip over the squarespace add! AMAZING!!!
That was AI generated music
I say it all the time: There's a mountain of old school VFX ripe for reacting. Check out the "woman melting scene" in Dead Heat (1988). You could do an entire episode on the nearly flawless matte and comp work of Jim Danforth -- specifically his work on "When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth." There's a scene where it blends from live action plate into animated egg hatching and it's basically seamless.
Heck yeah! When Dinosaurs Rules the Earth! I haven't seen that since I was a kid.
That falling in reverse, Music Video is absolutely insane. The other one that he just did with jelly roll is incredible as well.
It makes up for the “music” or audio pollution. 😂
I love jelly roll but I just didn't like it and I don't like a lot of what he does it's Ronnie's voice he's good but I can't stand his singing. Its annoying to me at this point.
ye theyve been putting out movie after movie, they must go into so much debt just for a little pr xD
I know that Jelly Roll song is the only country song I can listen to. Ronnie outdid himself on that one.
@@benjaminlazaro344 the song he did with jelly is objectively catchy as hell
That ad segment was the SINGLE GREATEST MOMENT in VFX reacts history
The idea and execution of the commercial part was awesome, I could watch ads like that one whole day.
I love the Metalocalypse sound effect for beeping out the curse words. Great easter egg!
Squarespace better start using that song cause holyyyy. Best sponsor segment i think ive ever seen in anything
I skip most sponsored segments, or even just watch the first part for the more creative ones. This I was all aboard hooked in the first 3 seconds! What a banger!
This video already started off great and then went into an ad that might have been the greatest ad I've ever seen on this already creative channel. You're one of the only subscriptions I never click through the ads. Content always on point but that song was legit! haha
I too love replacing actual artists with AI music, it definitely doesn’t terrify me that I won’t find a job in the vfx, music, or animation industry.
I don’t how, but the cuts and the edit in this whole video is soooo much more rapid than you other ones. I feel like it is just wayy too fast. Hats off to the sponsored segment though, was amazing 🔥
That was AI generated music
The William Osman "that's a lot of bees" really caught me off guard.
Now we know, Hugh Jackman's arms weren't CGI
Guys, there's this dope shot in the Presitge when Jackman is rehearsing with his double. The camera and actors circle around each other. Check it out!
omfg 4:25 I absolutely LOVE miniatures and probe lenses, this is the coolest thing ever!
I would love to see this real bad.
Yo. bullshit that music video was INSANE.
First time I don`t skip a sponsor segment, good job CC!
Hopefully this will bring him some attention and encourage him to come back to UA-cam, cause I desperately need to see more of this!
but then whats the version they are showing?
Aw man, I really wanted to watch that whole video!!
@@Ken_Bad same
I have tracked down the videos on douyin and I have posted them on my blog.
never in a million years thought id see ronnie on corridor, sic
10:48 there are so many Bollywood options (good options) for you guys. Brahmastra, kalki trailer, salaar, jawan and many more but you decided to react to a cheap daily soap in the name of Bollywood. It's been a long time do a dedicated Bollywood and Indian movie video.
I was so not ready for the sponsor segment, that was so badass! You guys are changing the rules of the game here
"Ice Road" with Liam Neeson was some of the greatest cgi ive ever seen. you wont regret it...
Thumbs up for the squarespace ad, first time I've ever sat through it :)
Why was this episode so short 😭I was enjoying it so much and then it ended
I wanna see you guys react to the VFX in Christopher Robin. A movie that was generally not thought of as a VFX movie, but because they are damn near seamless (especially with Winnie the Pooh), it managed to snag a Best Visual Effects nomination at the Oscars.
I’ve been watching you vids for years and I can confidently say that I’ve skipped every single ad yous have ever done. Until today!! That ad was 🔥
That sponsorship goes HARD
I just did my annual rewatch of Lost in Space (1998) and I think you should do that. Dr. Smith in his spider form is a good place to start
KUNG FURY!!!
Are you kidding me?! You're not out of suggestions. We've been asking for this forever. Kung Fury!
If you guys want CG arms why not look at Tag? Jeremy Renner broke his arm and wrist while filming so apparently they had to CG some stuff. Could be fun to try to pick out what shot is real arms or not
Yall should do a series about prop usage. You have already talked about them passively in so many videos but I think the topic deserves its own videos.
