I must confess that I find the CoC reports more interesting and appealing than the Bolt Action ones. Feels more realistic / believable. No big offense for Bolt Action, I played plenty of games of both systems. And of course, great work as always Travis. Thank you for your dedication 👏
Great game Guys, love the Cat & Mouse. Well done to Robert with his skillful use of the terrain, smoke and fire support for his advance to contact. Also a great looking table byw👍
Great watch. The Bolt Action game was really gung-ho, and this was much more of a game of chess. Both are entertaining in their own way, but I always feel that CoC offers a better simulation.
Awesome games! Nice variety with both BA and CoC. The different play styles and lists/support options were nice to see. Robert was a boss with those BEF, great use of arty/smoke to cover the advance with support fire. 👏
P.S I loved the narrative. I much prefer this play style, with the pre-game overhead shots defining objectives/ the scenario. It adds a nice bit of game play storyline. 👍🏻
Hi Travis, Great game. Note that broken is a different state to pinned, so if you are broken you do not get the cover bonus. Think of it as the troops quickly running away to get somewhere safe, not hugging the ground trying to hide behind a rock or fold in the ground. Would not have changed the outcome, but it may be useful in a future game. Excellent use of smoke. Really liked the tension: leap out under cover of smoke with the risk of the turn ending and being caught in the open. Excellent game, both of you.
Do the rules provide any limit at all on a 2” mortar firing smoke? I like TFL rules very much, but I wonder if they have any actual understanding of how many rounds of smoke a dismounted mortar team could carry, and how briefly smoke from very small projectiles persists. In any case, that is just a quibble with the rules. Your game was excellent!
Well light mortars run out of HE if they roll a double 1. No reason toy couldn’t roll two dice every smoke fired and if they roll a double 1 they run out of smoke.
Remember that every phase equals only a couple of seconds. So the smoke only persisting through the end of the turn makes sense. How many smoke rounds did a platoon carry for their 2" mortar?
Hey Travis 5 men with 9 shock do not brake and you only loose by 2. You do not brake twice, only if you are unbroken and the turn ends and than again take shock.
I realized that after the fact. But they still lost by 3 and would have fallen back they would if just not been pinned when the Vickers shot at them. That may have worked out better because the squad would have been wiped out and at least one leader probably still on the table. Either way that squad was screwed.
It’s how you customize your force. You get so many support points and can spend them on a list of different unit’s all costing varying amounts of points.
@@tabletopcp is this game still out of the bolt action book or is this a whole different game? I just got into BA a few weeks ago. Havnt played yet but got 2 armies ready to for war. I cant wait
@@nikomiller3852 yeah this is a totally different game. We just sometimes play similar missions on the same board with both games. Chain of Command is one should definitely check out if you want a proper WW2 rule set. Nothing against Bolt Action of course, it’s a great game, but if it’s authentic feeling WW2 platoon combat you are after check out Chain of Command.
Very nice game. Keep the good work on Filming Chain of Command games. .

Very nice report and fun to watch. Awesome job with the layout and scenery. Thanks for sharing.
fun battle! thanks for the talk through that helps explain the rules while adding in your thoughts on strategy.

Wahey what a great batrep - good to see Cox doing his thing so well - it's cos he's a true scot, you know :)
Awesome. Both the BA and CoC battles are very good to watch.
have to admit I also prefer the CoC after-action reports more entertaining than Bolt Action
Were did you get the coloured bases?
A good game of C of C and It was cat & mouse until it was't which tends to happen in these games well played both of you....Cheers.
Is there a link to your patreon normally in your video description? Excellent COC battle again. Tabletop CP does awesome games.
Brutal!

Great batrep! Where'd you get those awesome tokens? (pinned, overwatch, broken, etc)
I ax them made by a friend of mine. Hammerhead Games.
@@tabletopcp anyway to get myself a set? They look awesome.

@@tabletopcp sure my friend, it just hit me as i saw it
@@tabletopcpthe close combat was 7v5, so you lost by two not three.
why did you stop after you rolled 2 double phase in a row the first time? I thought you guys were using the drop a dice house rule.
We are trying something else now. A true double phase. Not a triple or quadruple phase 😄
What are support points?

Just play the bagpipes they would have broken easily
