Okay I knew I wasn't crazy. I played lots of hulk in the beta and I remember never dying coming out of that grab but now it's a little risky depending on the situation.
Couple tips I've learned playing as Hulk the last few days: Leaping before hitting Q or 1sec before the Monster form ends keeps the momentum and makes you slide a bit when landing, effectively extending the leap distance and allowing you to dive the enemy and be morphed on arrival or escape a bad spot before untransforming. If you hit someone with E while relatively close to them, you have just enough time to hit Q before E ends and start smashing. As you said, the grab and slam is not very good damage wise and because it takes too long to perform, but I find myself using it against characters with high mobility like Black Panther or Psylocke, since they can escape even after you tossed them into the air. Instead, a grab and slam followed by a right click while they are still on the ground will kill anyone who's not a tank. I also suggest practicing your juggles. It's possible to stunlock a Groot and bring him down from 100% hp to 0 in a single Monster Hulk transformation, all thanks to the juggle/bodyslam mechanic that zbra uses. I didn't like Hulk when I first played him, but now that I understand what he can do and how he sould be played he's my favorite hero in the game. Keep hulking out, guys!

This is a good guide, another thing for solo Hulks. Try to sync up with any dive or brawler teammate. If they're good, you'll destroy the lobby if they're bad, they'll feed, but they'll still make space for you, (you can't make a bad player follow up on your targets but you can follow up on theirs.)
This is SO COOL. I like how so many of the heroes can be good with the correct understanding of their kit. I thought I was trash at Hulk, I just didn’t understand him at all.
Change your hulk jump from hold to press. It will always be chaged up for max leap. U press it once. It will charge while u fight then hit jump again and u go. So jump in hit jump then fight. Once ur ready to go its pre charged
I was waiting for your guide on this guy. You improved my wolverine to the point i main him now. I remember you saying you play hulk and I had a feeling a guide on him was next.
YES!! 100% yes on the Jumping! YOu're in their backlines, harrassing their healers, jumping around being a pain in the butt to hit, and guess what? The enemies attention is divided on you now, and then you just jump away. Holding the jump was my first instinct from day 1 on hulk because it's literally his best survival tool, and honestly annoying to deal with. I don't see enough hulks doing this.
I think the most important part about hulk is bubble usage Yes you can jump in aggressively and use shields but uf you can get multiple bubbles and they all take some damage its way more ult charge and protects your team plus CC immunity (so no jeff consumption) and finding a good balance between offensive and defensive bubble usage is why i love hulk
tbh a decent Hulk and a decent Wolverine ganging up on the enemy together is damn scary to go against. Instantly losing your tanks because a Hulk threw Wolverine at them and then proceeded to body your healers is no joke. Especially when the Hulk is also able to throw the Wolverine at flying characters and is capable of jumping them himself.
I was following my Hulk as Wolverine the other day (as I usually do because "Wolverine wants uppies!") and we were just wreaking havoc on the enemy team. At one point the enemy Iron Man ulted and we both jumped him. Hulk punched him midair and I snatched him out of the sky and we beat and slashed him to pieces. Hilarious.
This video has informed me of a few Hulk intricacies I didn't know about and reassured me that I'm playing Hulk pretty much the right way. But also, it feels like Hulk plays great in a balanced team (2-2-2) but if you're a solo tank or you have 1 healer the enemy can shred you before you even land from a jump.
I solo tanked as hulk and got most kills, least deaths, and most damage blocked. You must play like Winston. You MUST bait their cooldowns with half committed jump ins before you go in deep.
I think I played Hulk with a Hulk-hater with almost no awareness. Nothing had really happened before he started saying stuff like "the enemy Punisher sucks... but so does our Hulk. This is the worst Hulk I've ever played with." "Look at him jumping around- you're not him." "Why is he playing Hulk? Does he think he's strong like in the comics? Because he's not." But then he also at one point said "OH MY GOD I'm CRAZY! I just killed Magik in her ult! Did you see that?" I was the one that killed her with a punch-clap. He either hit her right before that or fired a quarter second too late to finish her. It was in the kill feed, idk how he didn't see it. Then at the end I killed either 4 or 5 with my ult and the enemy team couldn't get out of spawn and he goes "No way we just came back like that!? We seriously just made that comeback!" (And I think he mentioned that it was despite a terrible Hulk.) And I think by "comeback" he meant that we almost ran out of time on 2nd point (on Shin-Shibuya, on the corner where I've seen almost every team get stopped) but other than that we were just steadily marching forward the whole match. He gave all credit for the win to the dps he was duo'd with, so he might have been doing that thing I've seen happen a lot in Overwatch where someone will talk shit about their own teammates to distract from the fact that their duo isn't that good/confident? It was like he was playing in a different match though. Funny thing is, he was making helpful calls about low health enemies when he wasn't shit-talking me, and it was one of the most fun matches I've played as Hulk.
People just love to scapegoat characters they think are bad no matter how you play. My team was losing a match in Overwatch while I was playing as Doomfist and a teammate told me I should switch when we had like ~30 seconds left. Keep in mind, this is a quickplay match and I’m one of the only ones on my team with a positive k/d, one of our dps is literally 2/10. We lose and this dude goes into match chat complaining to the other team, “Doomfist was mad cuz I told him switch LOL”. Salty players really think everyone is as emotionally invested as them 😂
If they made Hulk lore accurate he would solo entire teams by himself, especially going by his latest comic iteration. He is truly the strongest there is.
thank you for this video man. i tried every tank but none of them looked fun, until i saw you and ZBRA playing him, i gave him a try and he became my fav tank. my biggest gripe with all of them was the lack of skill expression and play potential but Hulk has such an interesting kit that you can do tons of things with hit. definitely my fav tank rn and i love playing him now
One of the best Hulk guides. Thanks ! Really an underestimate characters. Dude have the biggest health pool, insane mobility and litteraly two ultimates lmao.
I'm so happy that my favorite tank is getting some love. When people were saying that Hulk sucked way back in the alpha, I looked at his kit and was like, "What are you talking about? His kit is actually insane." Decided to become a Hulk main then and there to prove everyone wrong.
Another good strat i feel like is start in puny form and turniny into hulk if ur gonna die same with turning into monster hulk its a life saver two times
I don’t know if you say it. But another tip that it took me awhile. Hulk can hold onto the side of buildings. You can set up holding onto a wall on high then drop to get their suppoort.
Coming from fighting games, it's very common for characters that're difficult to use to get ranked low even if they're really good once mastered. People prefer easy yet strong characters which is why they get ranked high
hulk is probably one of the strongest characters but he has to have a good teammate so he doesnt get picked out since i kinda think of him as i would think of khan from paladins
There's a setting for the jump that makes it charge up on press instead of hold, I turned that on and double space to jump and it's basically always charged when I need it
Once I figured out how you're supposed to play as Hulk, I thought he was incredibly strong. I'm surprised people think he's the worst. He can jump around like a lunatic, give everyone a shield that gives them a massive (if short lived) advantage, and can out punch and melee character and bring down flying characters, which he can do every 3 seconds or so. HE'S not the bad part.
2:24 I think it's less of that and more of them (me included) dying 0.5 seconds after turning into Bruce. He has the best taunt in the game as everyone and their mama will kill him over everything else
I find it better to peel more often as hulk with that shield he gives because i can't tell you about the amount of supports i've saved with it and won the game for it. I manage to go from frontline to backline pretty often and almost always mvp of my matches going 30-0 or 30-2 pretty easily. Lots of people underestimate what Hulk can do so just take the time it is to learn him and you'll realize his potential. He also took me out of bronze 3 when i was constantly on a losing streak up to silver 3 btw
Okay so here's the thing... Everything you said in this video is 100% true! People aren't playing Hulk right, and they should get in and out harassing healers as much as possible. But with all of that being said, Hulk is STILL C tier. And it has absolutely NOTHING to do with a player's skill level. The character itself is just far too slow. I'm gonna paint you a scenario here which illustrates my point perfectly... Suppose you have an attacking team who is ALL RANGE. Imagine they're all MLG Pro aimers as well... If you even ATTEMPT to get in the fight to target a healer, the second you jump in, you're getting melted, often times too quickly to even charge up a jump to get out. There are literally no opening for Hulk in most situations. The only way he works is if your WHOLE team is rolling with melee class unites that bum rush. I have done an absolutely WONDERFUL play where we had a Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Wolverine, Magik and Ironfist just for shits and giggles, and to our surprise, it was a LANDSLIDE victory! We steam rolled them SO HARD. Now granted, that could just be because the enemy team sucked. But I'd like to believe that it was just too overwhelming with a tidal wave of fists coming at them. Hulk is GREAT in a situation like that, but it's so niche. Honestly, all they need to do is make his jump charge faster and I think he'd be fine. But as it is right now, he's just lacking too much speed to be considered viable. I have this same issue with Peni Parker, but at least she has traps, guns, and a web swing ability. Hulk is just gank bait, and you might as well be FEEDING the other team ult charges. Ranking him in C tier is actually being pretty generous. He's more like D tier if I'm being entirely honest with you.
I wonder if it would be better if they give him a lot of knockback and slightly increase damage. I feel like that can syndrogize well with a dive team while making people satisfied with how Hulk feels. Idk though
9:28 ehh...it still has it's uses, for example if you need to prevent an ability or ultimate, you can do that or if an Iron Fist or anything tries to dive your support, you can easily punish them.
UA-camr: “I think it’s a mistake to use Hulk primarily as a diver. Stay on point and defend your squishy teammates.” Another UA-camr: “I think it’s a mistake to use Hulk on the front line. Focus on diving on enemy healers and use your shield to escape.”
Gammaclap spamming is what i noticed with him. I never see other hulks do that, but i do it all the damn time and rake in the kills. Seriously i honestly think his main attack is a bad move unless youre able to knock them into a pit/off the platform. He knocks people out of his melee range so he cant easily follow up with more knockbacks, giving them a chance to escape move away.
im actually interested in playing hulk and wolverine. although one point i feel iffy on is you saying flats put him in C tier. he did, but the context was it takes a high amount of effort for return. Although, i AM going to play hulk after watching zbra. After labbing responsibly of course
I honestly can’t take most of these tier lists seriously, I’ve seek people be absolutely as with S tier characters and others stomp with low tier ones. I think a lot of thes game comes down to personal preference and just what you vibe with at least until a bit more into its lifespan where real meta develops.
hulk is only viable if the enemy ignores their backline. if just 1 dps starts to peel, you are doing little damage, jumping in and out and wasting healing resources on ypourself.
Being an experienced Overwatch player doesn't mean that you know Marvel Rivals. I'm stressing to people, form your own opinions. Flats has been wrong in OVERWATCH, much less a game he barely knows.
He's not particularly bad, he just has a very clunky kit that is not suited for Hulk. Holding space 90% of your play time waiting for it ti charge is not that fun
I played him a few times he didn't feel bad at all to me but that might just be because of my playstyle. Still he's actually good at getting kills which I have a harder time with whenever I play Venom. Only thing I can't get to work is using the jump to grab flying people out of the air might just be because I'm on console though lmao 3:30 it's good for finishing people off as well 5:00 Yeah I just use it when I need it and if teammates are around me than that's great 😂. 9:25 Yeah I've noticed that it sucks though I usually only use it when I have like 1 second left. It is pretty good for simply stunning someone though. Like I'm legit better with Hulk than with someone like magneto. Magneto just feels like Sigma but *way worse* because I'm actually good with Sigma. Aside from that I'm fine with Thor and Cap. But Groot is also really not my cup of tea.
"One of the best anti air heroes it's so easy to land" -Proceeds to miss the jump repeatedly- I actually hate how content creators try to oversell a characters abilities. He can be a great hero but he's 4 star difficulty for a reason.
I don't know man. Every tank feels like shit to me, besides Peni Parker, because you rely on your teammates to heal you, and that basically means game over most of the time. Specially since everyone and their fucking grandma wants to play DPS, and those who don't get to play DPS, play supports like they're DPS. It's OW all over again. The only difference is that tanks on OW seem to have a lot more self sustainability than they do in this game (for example shields don't decay over time for no good reason like venom's).
star lord and Wanda mains had the audacity to call Hulk low skilled character when they play star lord and wanda. lmao.

Got Diamond just playing him , he’s slept on and not well played most the time. You can’t autopilot on him. Gotta be aware of everything you do
I wonder if it would be better if they give him a lot of knockback and slightly increase damage. I feel like that can syndrogize well with a dive team while making people satisfied with how Hulk feels. Idk though
Very nice guide, Hulk is a ton of fun.
9:28 ehh...it still has it's uses, for example if you need to prevent an ability or ultimate, you can do that or if an Iron Fist or anything tries to dive your support, you can easily punish them.
UA-camr: “I think it’s a mistake to use Hulk primarily as a diver. Stay on point and defend your squishy teammates.”
Another UA-camr: “I think it’s a mistake to use Hulk on the front line. Focus on diving on enemy healers and use your shield to escape.”
Hulks fist should do Reinhardt level of damage
There was a player sitting at rank 1 on the leaderboard who mostly played Hulk.
I thought he was shit initially and neeeded a buff. Now I know how to play him and hes broken as fuck LOL
My only thing is I wish there was more of an incentive to play as Bruce 😅
This dude sounds like Slack from the Dota 2 scene
He literally just dropped a video of him not able to lose with hulk
I'm a shit Hulk, but I'm still getting the hang of everyone. Videos like this will help me figure out my weaknesses and cover them, though.
why does the thumbnail looks like Hulk is gonna tell me to jump off the side of the map?
Gammaclap spamming is what i noticed with him. I never see other hulks do that, but i do it all the damn time and rake in the kills.
Seriously i honestly think his main attack is a bad move unless youre able to knock them into a pit/off the platform. He knocks people out of his melee range so he cant easily follow up with more knockbacks, giving them a chance to escape move away.
I think hulks fist should do more damage & his bubble should last like 2 seconds longer
4:26 hulk tuah-
im actually interested in playing hulk and wolverine.
although one point i feel iffy on is you saying flats put him in C tier. he did, but the context was it takes a high amount of effort for return. Although, i AM going to play hulk after watching zbra. After labbing responsibly of course
Came for the hulk tips stayed for the Austin 3:16
1:24 me when I see squirrel girl
The Austin 3:16 shirt, a man of culture
ARGGH, IM TWEAKING OUT!
FLOUNDA SMASHHHH 😭
Subcribed when he turned into the hulk and started tweaking
I honestly can’t take most of these tier lists seriously, I’ve seek people be absolutely as with S tier characters and others stomp with low tier ones. I think a lot of thes game comes down to personal preference and just what you vibe with at least until a bit more into its lifespan where real meta develops.
Hulk is honestly the most fun tank in the game
2:36 let that child alone.
I think they should just get rid of the Bruce banner default. Just make hulk an individual character
Honestly, underated goat man tuning in for me. Keep up that work🎉❤😂
I think I'm bad or the healers are that good because hulk's dps feels weak to me and yes i been punching them for "hours" and they didn't die
hulk is only viable if the enemy ignores their backline. if just 1 dps starts to peel, you are doing little damage, jumping in and out and wasting healing resources on ypourself.
I've been playing hulk since I got the game lol still haven't played any ranked yet tho
In the video flats ranks it so low because of the high skill ceiling
Being an experienced Overwatch player doesn't mean that you know Marvel Rivals. I'm stressing to people, form your own opinions. Flats has been wrong in OVERWATCH, much less a game he barely knows.
if im chasing someone is it faster to walk or do regular jumps? solo tank hulk is pretty rough tho
Hulks my favorite tank
trusting flatz is insanelol
He's not particularly bad, he just has a very clunky kit that is not suited for Hulk. Holding space 90% of your play time waiting for it ti charge is not that fun
“Flats who is one of the best Overwatch tanks in the world” hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Ooo yk what that’s a good idea why am I waiting to use that attack in the back
Let’s see groot next plz
I played him a few times he didn't feel bad at all to me but that might just be because of my playstyle.
Still he's actually good at getting kills which I have a harder time with whenever I play Venom. Only thing I can't get to work is using the jump to grab flying people out of the air might just be because I'm on console though lmao
3:30 it's good for finishing people off as well
5:00 Yeah I just use it when I need it and if teammates are around me than that's great 😂.
I have 10 hours played on the hulk alone out of all the tanks he's definitely the worst but I prefer him or venom and I annihilate with both
this doesn't apply to me I always throw my wolverine off the map whenever I can
Subbed
"One of the best anti air heroes it's so easy to land"
-Proceeds to miss the jump repeatedly-
I actually hate how content creators try to oversell a characters abilities. He can be a great hero but he's 4 star difficulty for a reason.
Good video
Every character in the game can be op. You just need to know how to play
1:25 Nothing like starting the day with a hefty dose of cringe.
Thanks man.
