- Families want an answer when we sit and wait for the promised call. Can you tell me why we were DENIED? All we wanted was a path to know it was right, even when we called in time 3 months later a generic email just showed up and a primary doctor here asking questions? Do you only care when someone tells their story? Any answer while waiting 3 months making him ineligible is simply sad. #stopthecommericals
My son WAS a patient of St Jude for quite some time. We have been kicked out for not agreeing with the treatment plan! If your child is too healthy for their liking you become targeted!
Some of the employees there are incompetent. I THANK GOD WE NEVER HAVE TO GO BACK!!!!🙏
I'm sorry to hear that, but if he was getting healthy then they need to move on to other patients. Tens of thousands of children are diagnosed daily and there is only ONE St. Jude's. They have to help those with the greatest need for treatment first. I know that's hard to hear.

I didn’t allow my son to take all of their shots and medications. The kids that took them were terribly ill!
He “graduated “ to adult care.😌 Do you know what the new doctor found? His body was almost depleted of Vitamin D!!! SJ drew blood every time he went, so why didn’t they catch that?

I am so very sorry for your situation. We had a chronically ill child who was not properly diagnosed until she was 18 and only after a second bone marrow biopsy. The first of which was when she was five. Thanks be to God that she is heathyish, in the 30s with three children. However, if you go back and listen to the commercials, they do NOT say that they never deny a child. What they DO say is that they never deny due to inability to pay. IE, they are never ever billed for it. Plus, a hospital like that is bound to be full most of the time. Certain criteria has to be met. Have your child's doctor find out what that critera is and take it from there. I completely understand that you want nothing but the best for hour child. I do literally pray that your child as well as others, receives nothing but the best. I pray that your precious little one makes a full and permanent recovery. Oh and just one more thing. Take a little bit of time for yourself. May the Good Lord bless you and your precious little one...your entire family.

My understanding is that they accept patients they can learn from. They are a RESEARCH hospital. If your child’s cancer is something that can be treated elsewhere, then there’s no point in being at St Jude. The benefits of their research and doctors’ treatment plans can be obtained if your child’s oncologist contacts them. They cannot accept every patient, their facility is limited in size.

You are exactly right. In order for them to take your child on as a patient....your child must be eligible for a study they are offering.
St. Jude is probably at max annually. Hospitals are buildings, you cant overfill them. To a comment i read, if you dont agree with their treatment plan you aren't being kicked out you chose to deny their service.
I just read that Saint Jude has more than $2 billion in reserves. No patient should ever be denied.

There are so many children with cancer, especially brain cancer and St.Jude can only take so many children, period. What do you think the reason is that your son was not accepted? Or did you just not hear from them? Being "DENIED" is one thing, not hearing from them is different.

@@brockwillenborg7517 I was at patient at St. Jude when I was 7. I had stage 2 Rhabdomyosarcoma. I wish that they would take in every kid, but they only have 59 beds. It also comes down to if the hospital is currently studying that specific type of cancer.
Also, if the patient started treatment somewhere else.

I can assure u that is not true. They are the leading cancer center for children in the world. No cancer would be too difficult 🙄 I'm sure she just did not qualify for the study pertaining to her cancer. They are a RESEARCH Hospital
My mom has that in her left knee stage 4 that spread to her lung allready but she doing chemo and they operate her they put a 3D bones in her left knee because her knee bone were fractured and no more tumor but the last part she got to beat is lung cancer

Another reason this might be suspicious, not saying this woman is lying but other hospitals try to discredit other very well known hospitals. This is malicious and ends up costing kids their lives all for $$. It's disgusting. I'd personally help this woman find out what happened and make things right. I've been a large contributer to St Jjude and know many people in the organization.

I can't help but question the greed of St Jude when I see how much they advertised on TV asking for money. My father was in advertising all my life and I know how expensive advertising is on television. St Jude literally spends Millions on very lengthy advertisements. And it's not only in America. they advertise asking for money around the world. I'm sure that a lot of families are helped by st. Jude but I have to question who is tracking this kind of money.

It behooves anyone to investigate ANY care facility of this nature if denied care. Not with malice but for exonerating the institution for the logistical reasons "why" specific cases are denied.
A forthright care facility would not be reticent to do so.

Ask to see or receive a report on their expenditures/ income, and especially staffing cost average per child. Just how many children receive care?

Yeah I agree with you, St. Jude really likes to take in the leukemia and lymphoma patients because the survival rate is over %90. When I was 7 I had Stage 2 Rhabdomyosarcoma and my survival rate was over 70. I also think it comes down to how many patients they have. I know they have 59 beds, but I totally agree with you.

No it's not you see St jude Gives the children that walk through thier doors Clinical trials And not every child's illness is the same therefore all have to be treated differently and and they knew that they didn't have the treatment plan in place for him st jude can't accept everyone and they never say it either if you listen they actually say They will never Leave a child Because of thier inability to pay or food or housing. not because of thier Disease. Some cancers still don't have many if any at all treatment plans that's why they research So every child can be accepted and cured of cancer but that's not going to happen until people actually Try to donate instead of claiming they are a scam. And it gets me angry when people act like leukemia isn't bad like ALL cancer is bad and it can be just as fatal as a brain tumor
St Jude has a criteria to be accepted (not to mention they literally cannot take every child in). You have to have a life threatening cancer or a certain type of cancer that is actively being _researched_ to be accepted

You truly are a terrible person to tell the Mother of a sick child to shut up for speaking out about being denied at a hospital for literal sick children. I knew a child that was also denied from this hospital, and the poor kid ended up dying. Saint Jude was a wonderful man and is the patron saint of lost causes and desperate situations, and yet this hospital has been known to deny children when they are in the exact situation that Saint Jude himself is the patron saint of.
You want to donate to them, fine. But don't maliously attack a mother for speaking out for her child. Someone with a heart would be ashamed for saying something so disgusting as you did.

It’s a research hospital. Your child has to fit into the criteria for clinical trial (disease type,age, sometimes sex, and more specific criteria) (race, ethnicity, religion have nothing to do with your child being accepted) You also have to be referred by your child’s doctor. It’s not a hospital that you can just walk-in and be seen or call to become a new patient like a regular doctors office.

It's a scam. St. Jude's puts most of its money into reserves instead of treatments or helping families, more, with all their expenses. Many families have lost homes and cars, etc. because of St. Jude's not compensating for travel expenses, or helping with boarding expenses. The parents even have to pay for the treatments with insurance- St. Judes doesn't pay for most of the treatments. Thay have $5 billion in reserves, so they could afford to pay for more of the family services. St. Jude's doesn't cure anything, either. They just perpetuate the cancers. No natural health physicians on the staff to cure them, instead of chemo, etc., that destroys immune systems.
Either the papers were sent to the wrong office or they have not responded. You should of been on the phone everyday until they had you bring your sin in. St Jude never turns down kids. Something is wrong here. At the end you said your son was denied. Is that what you decided or you got papers stating he was denied. There has to be an answer.
