    Well done Remi! Having been a taxidermist of 40 years I've never seen an antelope with throat marking like that, so cool!

      Any advice on the best way to become a taxidermist?

    • @sctsct100
      @sctsct100 3 роки тому

      @@Jesse-gx7bx Check out s many vids on line that instruct and pick on the most consistent techniques used and apply them. You'll find the more critters you work on the better you'll get. Other good recourses are the companies the sell taxidermy supplies: McKenzie Supply, Research Manikins, Head Quarters! Most of them will sell vids hosted by some of the best in the biz.

      If you go full screen on a computer monitor, you can see where it impacts. Just to our left (inside) of his left shoulder blade, about mid-body. Arrow had some deflection on the pass-through.

    When Remi touched off the arrow I was so surprised that I actually said, "He got impatient." But once I saw the buck crumple up I pretty much knew where he put the arrow, I just thought he was going for lung.
    I've also never seen Remi do a flat out ambush hunt, that must have been killing him inside.

    one of the ONLY animals that shed their antlers???

    • @slaterchristensen4258
      @slaterchristensen4258 5 років тому +3

      I believe he meant horns. Deer have antlers and pronghorn technically have horns. Making them one of the only animals to shed horns

    • @nickyrider7987
      @nickyrider7987 5 років тому

      Animals such as pronghorn antelope and bison have horns instead of antlers, which stay permanently on their heads and are not shed. Pronghorn antelope do shed their horn shells every year and grow new ones, so antler hunters may find the black, hollow, fibrous horn sheaths when out antler hunting. These are ok to keep.

      i thought the same, i was like oh the arrow was to the right oof, then the antelope dropped, went back and replayed it like 20 times at .25 speed and you can just barely see where the arrow punctures inbetween the shoulder and neck, really an amazing shot.

    I bow and rifle hunt. I want to start capturing footage of my hunts if only for my own memories. I don’t like to clip it onto the bill of my hat-too heavy, the head harness feels weird and gets in the way of my ballcap, I’ve tried clipping it to different parts of my pack/bino harness-moves/wobbles too much, illegal in Oregon to attach to bow... I think I wish they had a harness to mount on top of my deltoid with a swivel but idk... What’s the best or if you could pick only ONE way or place to wear a GoPro to catch to most of your hunt (what you’re seeing, impact shot, blood trailing, etc)
    What do you think?

    Why don't you guys hunt with chest, head and/or bow mounted gopros? I get the idea of carrying cameras to show the shots and how you position and what not, but still, at least for me personally the hunter's POV would be the most fun to watch.
