God already knows our needs and we are told by Jesus not to pray in vain repetition, Matthew 6:7

Pray without ceasing, the effectual fervent prayer avails much!

@@paulawallace9309 To pray without ceasing is living a continuous life with God through prayer, a relationship! Not a convenient story when you stop by when you want something!

Jesus prayed three times repeating the same petition in the Garden of Gethsemane; he also taught the parable of the unjust judge in which the persistence of a widow convinced a reluctant judge to intervene, and he used that to illustrate how much more God would answer those that persist ‘cause he ain’t reluctant.

@@jaccalicious26 Jesus also said, don't be like the hypocrite who prays in vain repetition. God knows what we need and man ain't got a clue!

@@WORDversesWORLD Yup, there is vain repetition and faithful repetition, Jesus repeated his petition, Elija did likewise, Paul also, as did Daniel. And even though we sometimes don’t know how to pray, we do have a clue, Jesus gave us a pattern in the Lord’s Prayer, and we have the Bible to renew our mind.

I have a question and I'm hoping you can help me. Early in the message you make a big point about God not being able to lie, and if one thing God said didn't happen, the whole universe would fall apart.
But God tells Abraham that his people would be in bondage for 400 years. However, it ends up being 430 years.
Now, we would say, that the reason that happened was because Moses got ahead of God and got outside God's timing.
But how is this not a scenario where what God said didn't come to pass? Was God able to see into the future and somehow miss that Moses would make a mistake and it would be 430 years?
Or is it that God didn't look into the future and his plan was 400 years, but it wound up being different despite what God said? How was it that God seemed to be adamant that it would be 400 years, but somehow it got all fouled up and God didn't see it coming when he spoke it to Abraham?
Does that make sense? I realize it's quite a word salad.

Within God's will, there is always the human factor that plays into the end results. The scripture does make it very clear that it was 430 years "to the day" when the Children of Israel were delivered from bondage in Egypt. You are correct, that 30-year delay was because Moses killed the Egyptian and ran off to the back side of the desert. God has always worked in and through mankind in the earth and He is longsuffering towards us, that when we mess up He works things around to accomplish His plan. God did not lie! However, when it came into Moses' heart that he was the deliverer, he delayed things through his zeal without knowledge. The scripture tells us that we have all things and abound, in Christ. Yet most believers are not walking in the light of that and live in lack, and are ridden with sickness and disease, etc.. Is that because God lied about what we have as believers in Christ? No, it's because we aren't fighting the good fight of faith and laying hold on the provision He has available to us. I hope this helps, as you seek the Lord and become obedient to His will and purpose for your life.
