- I recently shared a video unboxing a lambskin mini Lady Dior bag in a beautiful strawberry pink color, but I’ve since decided to return the bag because of quality issues/defects. I am sharing the reasons why I decided to return it which is helpful information if you’re thinking of buying a Lady Dior yourself. And actually the tips I’ll be mentioning are good things to keep in mind when you’re inspecting any luxury designer bag before purchasing it.

I have heard so many great reviews of Dior service and packaging so this really surprised me. That said, it might be bad luck, it might be that all these luxury companies are slacking on their quality control. I don’t think you should write it off completely. Never hurts to try again if you really love the design. I have a medium lady dior that I am so in love with and even if I saw a popped thread I think I would get it repaired rather than give it up. Agree they’re usually really good with every aspect of customer service so I’m not going to write off Dior. I still want a mini Lady Dior. Waiting for another color I really love to be released and I’ll buy it then 😄

CAROL CHAN yes PINK! Lol that’s what drew me to the video. Bright pink though. It’s one of the 4 last pieces I want to have my curated bag collection
You are not crazy! I am considering the new ss collection and this is kind of like research for me. I would be absolutely mortified to find so many defects on a bag of that price and from a well known designer.
Hopefully you have better luck than me. Are you considering the Mini Lady Dior specifically? And what color do you have in mind?

I was the sucker buying a bag with a scratch. It annoys the heck of me and makes me feel icky. Like someone actually is scratching me. I am considering returning but think i wont do it, since i love the holographic shine and it was a limited collection piece... but when i did consider buying a scarf, saw lose threads on a brand new scarf and the SA said it was the last piece.... i felt my head just boiling.... i refused to buy anything from Dior there and then. The quality is outrageously bad for what they charge and they are raising their prices in a few days.

The Gabrielle has definitely grown on me over time. I didn’t like it at all when it was first released but now I understand the charm of it especially if you want a more casual everyday bag. It’s not really my style though so I never considered getting it myself. I think that the idea of wearing the bag many different ways by rearranging the multiple chains of the strap is all a gimmick. As far as bags that are arguably considered new classics from Chanel, I think I prefer the Chanel 19 bag more. What do you think?

Honestly if its that much of a hassle I wouldn't bother. Its a bright colour and lambkin thats delicate in of itself. It also seems like a colour and style people would often consider but not buy. Order like 10 online and return all but one if u seriously want it. But I've never seen such big quality issues especially for a luxury brand. Ive never had such an experience with any of my luxury purchases. And I am picky af.
Luckily for my wallet they were sold out of the color online by the time I was mailing back the return so I couldn’t order another even if I didn’t already decide to give up. Bright vibrant colors are amazing in lambskin but I agree that it’s delicate. I think I may go for a darker mauve/rose color if Dior ever releases one.
that was exactly my thought process when buying the bag! I really loved the baby pink one but didn't get it as it can get damaged way easier than a darker color. So i bought the dark green one, no issues with it luckily, and loving it so far :)
that is so sad, and frustrating... I think I would have let go some of the issues, cause once you wear a bag a few times you can lightly damage it anyway. But the strap of the last one is too much! I receive my strap for the saddle last Christmas with a lot of threads, but I couldn't wait to wear it so I cut them and fixed the problem :)
I completely understand what you’re saying. I think I would have felt better if I caused those damages myself. It’s always the first scratch that really saddens me but I eventually get over it.
Have you thought about getting a more hard wearing patent one instead carol?

You’re very discerning Carol. Did you get a refund on any of your Dior mini’s? I don’t know what to say. Is there really an absolutely perfectly made bag at Dior or are there minis not treated as well or made as well? Or was it the posting and packaging. Hard to know. I guess if you have another size and it’s perfect then you know your standards are not impossibly high.
Luckily I was able to get refunds on the ones that I purchased. I think a big factor definitely is that lambskin is more delicate so it could happen on any bag, not just the mini. But I’ve generally had good experiences with the quality of Dior items and I’ve also gotten another bag from the brand since this video which is perfect so hopefully issues are not the norm for customers.
Hi, Carol, I had issues with my recently purchased Lady Dior ABC bag, too..:( After exchanging my bag, the second one has also quality problems. I don't know what is happening with Dior, but it seems that unfortunately the quality goes down as it happens in the case of other luxury brands.
So sorry that happened to you. Were you eventually able to get a good one without issues? I agree that the quality control seems to be lacking even though prices have gone up in recent years.
CAROL CHAN I was able to find one with minor indentations on the bottom, thus, not perfekt, but I can live with it. Thank you for your videos and greetings from Germany ! :)
I get that if you pay this much for a bag it shouldn't have major issues but these bags are handmade and they will have minor flaws. I think your heart really did not want the bag in that color maybe?
Usually I know right away if I am going to return a bag and don’t have second thoughts about it. That was really not the case with this one though. I would say that I can accept varying levels of defects on a bag depending on the price point, but I’ve gotten bags that are a fraction of the price that are made better. So I personally expected more for this bag. Everyone is different though.

I think it’s a good size for a mini bag. Depends how much you usually carry though.

Hi, have your try to clean your lady dior bag, wipe it with the cloth ? did the color of the bag transferred to the wiping cloth ? Because when I tried to clean my lady dior ( fuschia ) the color transferred to the wiping cloth :(
I never got any cleaning cloths with my purchase. I got the dust bag though and I’ve seen the SAs at Dior wipe it with the dust bag sometimes. I wipe down my Lady Dior with a microfiber cloth sometimes and there’s never been any color transfer. Are you using any products on it or wiping it with a dry cloth?

I orderd the same bag in the matt and it didnt have all the packaging nothing was protected👎
