With proposed investments Bengal first needs to improve infrastructure, especially roads. Most of the roads in Bengal are two lanes baring a few national highways. The roads connecting the hinterlands adjoining the proposed industrial hubs need to be widened to minimum four lanes to facilitate quick movement of vehicles. If necessary, land should be acquired to expand the roads and all illegal encroachments should be demolished. For greater interest of the State and economy, smaller interest will have to be sacrificed.
Land acquisition is the most BURNING ISSUE of Bengal.

West Bengal is weirdly well suited for Heavy-engineering goods manufacturing due it well developed engineering and proximity to critical mines, High population density but severely lacks infrastructure to export or import few critically Important products, West Bengal needs to bring back the education system of 1960-70s or the education system set-up of B.C.Roy to have an Industry oriented development and built an efficient Infrastructure like Japan or Korea which can can catapult South Bengal region to more than 3 tn dollar GDP by 2045 at current prices.
High population density is a problem, not advantage. Land acquisitions have been a problem in the State. Though WB controlled population growth better than most States, the density is not reducing much anytime soon.

The recently concluded BGBS had highlighted the quality of education in Bengal by many speakers. Let's not go back to Dr BC Roy days. The Mamata Banerjee govt has reportedly built several ITI s , so she claims. Bengal is truly in a resurgent mood and no less than Mukesh Ambani has repeatedly mentioned about it in his speeches. To some extent he may be advertising for Jio, but majorly he praised Bengal's growth . MA has no axe to grind and 20000 cr investment is not at all bad and the cumulative investment by the Reliance group is 45000/ crs . Only hope Britannia, Philips, Bata, Dettol co, return to Bengal . Negativity spread by opponents especially the BJP should be ignored. Mamata Banerjee and MA formed a very good combination, and he will revive the heritage Kalighat temple

Yeah, the environmenal clearance check is generally done qucikly. If they really wanted to start, they would have started by now. I think they do not have much capital to start working on multiple such large projects now and this port is not in the priority and govt is also not pushing them. Contracts should mention deadline for specific types of construction not just constructing a gate and doing environmental checks. And, if the deadlines are not met, Govt should be free to open bidding for alternative partners with new deadlines but bureaucrats let alone politicians are not all smart and ethical as people think they are. Watching previous IAS/WBCS people speak in interviews and mock interviews of other interviewees show proof of that in my eyes.

Son of Soil reservation act bill to be passed in State assembly like others states TN, Telengana, Maharashtra, Haryana etc. etc, have already implemented or enacted many years back.
These are just proposed industries. West Bengal has a history of proposed industries which are result of political connections but they failed to take off from ground.

I am not optimistic about adani group for tajpu port.. They will require 15k cr for this project.. Do they have that much money?? 🤔🤔 don't think so. They are highly debt ridden.. Jindal could have been better.. But as adani came up as no 1 bidder so WB government had no option but to gave it to adani...
