I was digging in our garden and found a chest full of gold coins. I wanted to run straight home to tell my wife about it. Then I remembered why I was digging in our garden.
Jimmy Carr said it was terrible that we had so many amputees coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan but some good would come out of it - we would have a terrific paralympic team. The press savaged him but, if he had told the joke at Headley Court Rehabilitation Centre, to all the actual amputees, they would have howled with laughter.
As Ricky Gervais said, there are no offensive jokes, just people who are offended by the jokes, which makes sense. If you have a crowd of a thousand people who found the joke funny and one or two people found it offensive, then it wasn’t the joke. It’s the people.
The late Sean Lock on "8 out of 1o cat do countdown" with the comment "that is a challenging wank". Offensive to some obviously but when you see professional comedians corpsing and not recovering then that was a work of comedic genius.
David Cross (Ian Hawke from Alvin & The Chipmunks) really must've offended that one woman who left the theatre who was caught on camera! Don't know if anyone noticed that, I did!
She could easily have been connected to a victim, there's so many of them. She might not necessarily have hated the joke, she may just have been too upset to listen. Let's be fair, there are thousands who could claim such a connection.
My favourite comedian will always be Billy Connolly because i love his actions and the way he goes off on a tangent with some other story then finally comes back to what he was originally saying,..eventually !! Had the privilege and pleasure of chatting to him quite some time ago,...what a great guy he is, xo.
Greetings and Love from Germany, my dear. Well, alot of comedians are hard to understand for me as a German. But there's a guy you have to react to. He speaks very clear and his delivery of those very dark and sarcastic jokes is very outstanding. His name is Anthony Jeselnik. Have a peaceful day, prettywoman ♤♡♤
WoW!!!Amanda, I have watched lots of your postings, and enjoyed every single one, but this is the first time that I have seen you absolutely lost for words. Keep up the good work, and keep your clips coming, they make this old man very happy.
There aren't many short clips of his on-line, but Frank Skinner came close to the edge a lot on his early dvd's. If you can find 'swings and roundabouts', you'll laugh!
I love Frank's stuff. Well most of it anyway. I even really liked the sitcom that he did years ago with Jenny Eclair. My abiding memory of one of his routines though, is him joking about a story in the paper about the then very infirm Princess Margaret having an accident getting into the bath. The story stated that Princess Margaret had "burned her feet' getting into the bath. With Frank making much mockery of the fact that she had managed to burn BOTH of her feet getting into a too hot bath. "How do you burn both of your feet getting into a bath?" asked Frank..To which my wife just point blank pointed out "er... if you're being hoisted down into the bath in a sling because you're disabled..?"
I have no problem with offensive jokes. As long as they're actually in pursuit of funny. Angry rants and insults aren't always funny. But even so, I don't generally get too worked up, as I realize that anger says more about them than about me.

The comedian I think said it best is Brad Williams: You have two choices when you go to a comedy show "Ha Ha or No Ha Ha" you can't be offended by a joke; it's only a joke. If you get offended by a joke you should avoid comedy altogether.
This list should include Anthony Jeselnik. Jimmy Carr said that he doesn't write jokes to offend people. It is a bonus if people get offended, but that's not the reason he does it.
Jim Jefferies and Frankie Boyle used to be funny back when they tried to be as offensive as possible. Nowadays they've done a complete 180 and suck because of it.
If you are looking for offensive jokes. Sam Kinison did a comedy album called, "Have You Seen Me Lately," that ends with. Butt and the Bible/Parties with the dead. In those jokes, he simply gets more and more offensive... But it is also hilarious. Not for the easily offended. You should check it out!
