    Also a Corsa d owner, mine is a low mileage 2013 example which I bought 2 years ago. Clutch just failed at 26k miles. First problem was sticky gear changes then couldn't get 1st gear when cold. Took it to local garage who diagnosed clutch so replaced it with a 3 piece LUK kit. They also replaced the master cylinder which connects the pedal to hydraulic system. Not a cheap job but hopefully will last longer than the last clutch.

    Thank you, as a Corsa owner engineer this looks too difficult for my DIY I now know to take this to a garage. Great work showing this.

    Isn't it easier just replacing the gearbox? Or is it more involved having to change them?

    I would possibly think it may be .But how many miles ?Do you do lots of urban driving ? Could be leakage of fluid on to the plate making it slip, rather than wear if its intermittent .

    Your 100 percent right right Brian but so much easier ,and it saves damaging CV boots .

    What a pain for that little part! Could You please help me with my 2009 Corsa D OPC? My clutch randomly slips from 3k under heavy load but not all the time. I had 2 whole months without slippage and was able to floor it with no problems but it is back again. What was that little part that was leaking in Your car? Could this be faulty in mine also? Thanks mate!

    Hi I have a small problem on my Corsa d 2009 , 1.3 front anti roll bar bush the u clamps , how do you get the rubber bush off . I've removed the bolts it's like they welded the u clamp to the bottom of the uclamp seems solid even when I tap it hard with hammer and thin tool . Any info on this thanks

    I mate. My Vauxhall Astra H 1.3cdti is making a funny noise . When i press the clutch pedal it stops. Is it the same problem as your corsa had? Cheers

    Great video mate. Can I ask is your car a manual or automatic. Lastly how did you know your slave was leaking?

    • @tonyfox1434
      @tonyfox1434 5 років тому +1

      obviously a manual, changing the "clutch" and slave.

    I know this is an old video. But do all Corsa D have dual mass? Mine is due in garage for clutch to be replaced, but the garage claim it isnt dual mass and its just a clutch that needs replacing, they havent actually looked at the car yet he went to get a quote on how much it would be because he himself at the garage mentioned the dual mass flywheel but comes back to me and says from what his system says its solid flywheel no dual mass, i always thought all corsa d 1.3 cdti's were dual mass.

      Was not even sure it had duel mass until I watched the video

    So I was thinking of buying a Corsa d
    When I went and looked at it, it was loosing some oil close to where the clutch is located
    And you can't really shift it with ease... Like you really have to push it into gear
    Do you think I have to replace the whole clutch or do I just have to get something minor repaired..?
    I'm not good with cars and English isnt my first language.. I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say anyway :)

    • @cornishrob123
      @cornishrob123  4 роки тому +1

      Oil leaks happen with older cars But , any leak between the engine and gearbox can cause contamination of the clutch plate an make it slip and loose friction, so it will not drive well .If you do a repair inside a oil contaminated clutch the clutch will need to be replaced.

    I have a vauxhall corsa 1.0 with clutch judder when moving off in 1st and the car has only done 18500 miles and needs a new clutch i have been told that its a common fault with these cars because the parts are cheap and nasty so if you want to spend money on a new clutch every 20.000 miles you've picked the right car.

    • @madeleinegillett5892
      @madeleinegillett5892 4 роки тому +1

      Clutch judder isnt necessarily the worst thing in the world. Most Hondas have a clutch judder from brand new and you can feel it through the gear stick. Doesn't affect the wear of the clutch really

    Are you sure your is dual mass flywheel???

    • @cornishrob123
      @cornishrob123  Рік тому

      Not sure how that's relivent. Why would that be important for slave failure.

    There was a big puddle of fluid under her and the clutch peddle stayed on the floor .

      @@cornishrob123 ok. Thanks. Did you have to lower the subframe to one side or didn't touch it at all? I have a Combo, guess similar, with the same problem, I removed the subframe completely to do the job and that was a big job in itself but unfortunately there is something wrong with the clutch kit I bought or so and have take it down again

      cornishrob123 think I got same problem, the brake fluid keeps going down and there’s a leak underneath between the joint of gearbox and it’s dripping but now it won’t go into gear when car is on and the peddle you can touch it with pinky and it just flops down like it’s no compression

      cornishrob123 that’s what I was thinking slave cylinder are common to go on corsa? And do they have dual max flywheel? As I haven’t seen any in Euro car parks or jayar car parts
