beautiful set! would drive me crazy with the few nails pointing upward tho. those will fall off quick, that’s why it’s really important to be mindful when applying your tips before anything else
It’s the way she angles her tips so the tips won’t be so curved in since she’s using curved tips
I am a seasoned nail tech and know how to make sure none of them are turned up.
No shade but I would hate that!
I came to the comments to see if anyone else notice that. Those are definitely going to have weak spots in that area.
@@cindycalderon12 I doubt that. Some are pointing up and some aren't. Any nail tech could tell you that this is not how you ever apply a nail tip. Those pointing up will most likely break. I don't think she even realized she did this when she applied them.
I once cheated on my nail lady and went to a guy that my sister raved about. My nails came out pointing up like this they looked like weird animal claws! I learned my lesson I went straight back to my lady to get them fixed 😳

I agree. I think in another video awhile back mimi said the tips she uses arent straight tips they have a more curve to them so in order to have that straight look I guess she applies the tips more upwards. And her client in this video some of her fingers (especially the middle finger) not the nails but her finger naturally bend upwards and I think that also plays a factor in making it look extra upwards lol I hope this helps
Applying the tip upwards will cause a fault line in that area, making it most likely break easily. She did not do this on purpose. Some are applied this way and some are not. She most likely did it by accident while talking and not looking at what she was doing. She can compensate for the mistakes while laying the acrylic but that would be hard for us too see from the camera's p.o.v. It's a simple mistake that any of us can or have made before. But it is driving me crazy.
yeah i see how some are more flat and some point up. in the thumbnail the middle finger is what really caught my eye lol. if that was my hands it would drive me crazzyyyy. definitely a beautiful set but ya i could see myself snapping that nail off easily being pointed up like that

Why are those acrylic nails so lifted up? I personally don't like it. However the design is gorgeous! It's a shame the nails look so lifted up.
It might be her nails, there's away to place the tips tilted downward when being glued on. I've seen it done. I would have soaked those off..
It her fingers. If you look from underneath one of her fingers you’ll see the tip of her fingers point upwards. Which I’ve never seen before and I would refuse to do her nails because her nail beds/ fingers would just throw me off. But I’m a beginner to acrylic nails and I’m teaching myself.

The tips aren't flattering for her type of nails...I have them and i know by experience lolol ..you have to work against what your natural nail is doing..so instead of applying "straight tips", curved would counteract that pointed up look

Its her fingers they grow weird like that because if look underneath her fingers and then look at tips you’ll see them point upwards.

@@pinkytkblue she definitely didn't do it on purpose because only some of them point upwards and not all. Tips should never ever be applied this way, they will break. Hopefully when they do they don't take her natural nails too

Why are the two middle nails sticking up?
I think it's because that's how her natural nails grow upward.
My nails grow upward like hers. I can never get long nails, it just looks super weird on me which is funny since im a nail stylist 🥲😅

@@scivnce4273 A great nail Tech will look at that and address it, by slanting the nail tip down if the natural nail naturally grows upward other wise you have a nail tip reaching to the sky which looks yuk. And it can also be a nail tip to large. It can also be better to sculpt on ski slope nails,xx

Why is her nails sticking up so high?
I am like you...I can't function without my nails. I also find square more difficult to function with than coffin and stiletto. Unfortunately with my job I'm not able to wear mine quite as long as I like. But I wear them a lot longer than most people that do what I do. I do a new set on the weekend at the length I like then trim them down for the week.
I'm amazed Mimi still has the time to do nails considering she be on TV and everything.

Mimi about the jets to the pedicure chair .. I work at a viatnamese salon and the rule is if I don’t keep up with the jet I have to pay my boss $50 to replace it.. so I always make sure I keep up with it! Same thing with state board fine we have to pay it if our station or supply box is dirty we pay the money for it so we make sure to stay ready For my boss and state board!❤️

I noticed when I do nails it helps them relax their hand if you put their finger that you're done filing under your hand while you file the other ones and that way they can't keep getting it in your way or flexing their finger upwards trying to keep it out the way

That's because her natural nails grow upward.
Oh no! the tips are applied incorrectly and that is why the nails are pointed up. The apex is incorrect. There should not be the constant wiping of the brush down the side of the nail onto the clients skin. Monomer (liquid) should NOT repeat NOT be in contact with skin. I see nearly 2000 people 'liking' this video but as a nail tech with 40 years experience I am letting you ladies know that this is incorrect procedure and application. Love to all

Depends on client and the nail tech. This client has a week off work and is going to be relaxing probably. I work a lot with my hands so I personally prefer them to me a bit more strong.

Go up way to much no way it’s pretty but i wouldn’t pay for those…. Maybe it’s the ladies fingers because it’s only a few nails and usually she don’t do nails like that usually
