I saw Woosung in concert 2 weeks ago in London, UK 🇬🇧 on the 30th of October. He is amazing. If you like this song you have to listen to the whole album as it is a whole concept on re-imagining death and the whole cycle of life. You need to listen to his explanation of the concept and the significance of the number 4 in Korean culture. 4 is like the number 13 in western culture as the word for 4 sounds like the word for death in Korean. Woosung said at the concert he is trying to cultivate a positive spin on death as not to be feared but a natural cycle and as you stated a duality in understanding that we must make the most of our time here on this planet by what we leave behind, that being positive influences by what we create by giving in our service to others. Woosung wrote the song 'The Day That I Died' for his mother. I find it interesting that the 4 number also has a high reference in other cultures not specifically Korean as 444 and 4444 have a high spiritual reference in Numerology as Angel Numbers. Woosung also dropped his 4444 album on 4th October 2024 which happens to be my birthday :) Thanks for the reaction, you need to react to the rest of the album now too also them in concert too! I have some footage and I have seen two other full videos of the London gig. Enjoy the rest of the album!
During his QnA in Sydney Woosung said he didn't want to take the easy route and make a 3 minute song with a calculated, early beat drop. He said in this era of instant and constant dopamine hits, surely we have it in us to be able to wait 5 minutes and appreciate music. I found his commentary so honest and profound. So the length of the track is a message and a commentary on this modern life in and of itself. Made me scream F THIS MODERN LIFE a bit harder with him later during the show. His whole album is brilliant. I am not used to EDM, but it all grew on me. I guess JK's Golden trained my ears a bit, or maybe much earlier Darren Hayes and Imogen Heap/Frou Frou to some degree. Paper Cuts remind me of Imogen Heap so much. I think you'd like I Found You as a musician. Woosung said by performing that song he enjoys it more than he would have anticipated. I think it's because it connects so well with Black Roses.
I'm so happy so see you react to Woosung's solo work! I went to his concert 2 weeks ago in Paris and it was an incredible experience... His lyrics always resonate deep inside and never miss to heal a bit of my soul.
I just saw Woosung and Dojoon in Sydney a few weeks ago. I was so lucky, I got to first row during QnA. Then the same weekend he had a livestream and he picked my question to answer from the live chat that moved so fast I was shocked he could even read it! I really liked their vibe on stage. A beautiful mix of high energy with seemingly effortless chill and relaxation. Woosung has some unique a bit quirky moves. They are so lovely! I really hope they did well enough on sales at the Enmore to bring back The Rose to Australia. The seats seemed all taken and the mosh pit relatively full. Everyone was singing along the entire show, and it was a very diverse crowd. THERE WERE GRANDMAS IN THEIR 70S AND 80S ROCKING IT TO EDM!!! I am in my 40s, and I sat next to a lady who could have been my mum, and there were even primary school kids, teens and tweens in the crowd but definitely not majority Gen Z!!! Also, Woosung looks way younger than his age, and way smaller in real life than through camera. If he passed me by I would have thought he was a high school kid resembling him! Also, one glance at him and you get the Korean expression of compliment saying "you have such a small face". I'm rambling in overshare but the show was perfect!
For anyone who would like to hear Woosung sing this live here is a link to his Bibim-Pop performance where he sat at a table and sang his heart out. The adlibs at the end were really great! ua-cam.com/video/QSvFj__mRBg/v-deo.html
If you appreciate Woosung, I will subscribe and continue to watch and support your content. Talent will support talent. Best wishes on your continued music journey!
Hey by the way have you ever heard of British rapper REN?? I think you would love his art try Hi Ren or Money game or Violets tale. He is an insane story teller.
Hi there Mon from Downunder, could you please react to this artist you wont be disappointed....songs as follows...DPR IAN - Don't Go Insane (Official Music Video) | Dear Insanity...DPR IAN - Peanut Butter & Tears (Official Music Video) | Dear Insanity...DPR IAN - LIMBO (Official Music Video).....and DPR IAN - So I Danced (Official Music Video) | Dear Insanity... also, id like to give some context about DPR IAN....born Christian Yu, in Sydney Australia, he is an Australian singer, rapper, and director based in Los Angeles. He is a former member of Yedang Entertainment boy group C-Clown, which was active between 2012 and 2015. Yu made his solo debut under his co-founded label Dream Perfect Regime (DPR) with the digital single "So Beautiful" .Yu is behind the visual arts for the DPR, In 2021, DPR Ian and Live released the track "Diamonds + and Pearls" as part of the soundtrack to the Marvel Film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. This marked the duo-along with fellow artists on the album-becoming two of the first Korean artists to participate in a Marvel soundtrack album. DPR Ian was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when he was a teenager, then later in his twenties with dissociative identity disorder (DID). He later created an alter ego, Mito, to reflect the low episodes of his mental disorder. In an interview with Billboard, he said that "I wanted to portray a character dealing with various mental disorders which may be deemed negative or dark in a realistic sense but at the same time can also be seen as superpowers in a different light". He talks about a personified version of his high manic episodes named 'Mr. Insanity' with his newest album, Dear Insanity, saying, "I thought it had to be about someone that represents my utmost manic highs, but all in all I've always thought Mr. Insanity to be more of a scary character. You're not sure what he's capable of. ....I hope this sheds some light on why is clips are so delightfully insane....
