LSJ I believe every thing you say here is true. First of all, forgive me as I am only a single hand castor in search of needle point loops. Having watched this video about 9 times back to back....I believe without even seeing your loops that they are pointed. I now think I should take up the spey rod and develop exactly what you said. Every thing you said, curved rod ark , shocking the line, over muscle vs correct technique. To me , your slow but correct technique is absolutely beautiful! The application of power in a straight line , yet not shocking the line, creating waves in the upper and lower legs! So critical, so important!! I am now drawn to it. You are demonstrating and explaining clear power stroke application.....thank you! I am now going to look at your previous videos. I have never spey cast, but I fly fish for steelhead and can see the benefit. I live in a remote area of Oregon. So I will attempt to pursue this skill online. What I have been admiring is the single hand side a video with smooth tight loops. The second half has some spey casting, also with tight loops. On UA-cam "In search of a perfect loop". Just 3 minutes, but smooth as silk....! Fly casting has a satisfaction of it's own. Thanks for your video!! just jim

LSJ I need advise and help. First I fish the upper Rogue summer and fall for steelhead. Big river but many places are wadeable. So low clear summer fishing, smaller Flys. Floating lines and sink tips. I am captivated by the videos I see where they have needle point loops and the upper and lower leg of the flyline is without waveyness. I believe (guessing) that scandi lines and rods might be the best tool for that pointed loop casting ?? I need your help as I have never spey cast. I have a lot of experience single hand. I am coming at this differently then most people, as most would be the best for fishing approach.....but I am looking for pointed loops in the air as the number one priority. Just a personal preference that I will fish with. So, what line, rod and spey style of casting would you recommend?? To my outside the box of understanding eyes......Skagit sounds like it is clumsy and for big heavy flys, and switch sounds like a compromise, and traditional spey rods is like giant 15' and more rods.....?? So I am thinking scandi is what meets my visual line shape pursuit?? All of my thinking could be all wet!! So I would greatly enjoy your help and advice! just jim

3:52 you catch yourself pulling in your anchor too close and far behind, reset, then almost give yourself at new piercing as you repeat at 4:00. In this "spin/rotation" movement, the anchor has the tendency to get sucked in too close and sometimes too far behind rather than being out in front of you. Good tips with the top/bottom hand mechanics though.
@@LineSpeedJediTimRawlinsI'm no spey guru but the casting position has to be aligned with your target better which will create the needed body rotation to d-loop formation and visual check of forward anchor placement. Everyone learns and makes adjustments in their own way - I'm not knocking down Bruce's instruction. I think making a lot of crummy casts is necessary to understanding the feeling and mechanics of a great one.
Mr. Kruk's efforts in this tutorial on Spey Casting, is wasted!! The person Uploading this obviously doesn't want Mr.. Kruk to share any of his techniques with the Viewers!! How insecure 🥺😳
