  • This video discusses importing audio in Avid Pro Tools. Under the File Menus, select Import Audio, or hit Command+Shift+I on a Mac, or Control+Shift+I on a PC. One Danger in Importing Audio is Pro Tools won't necessecarily copy it into your Audio Files folder. When the window comes up, choose "Convert" or "Copy", never "Add". You can also just drag a file into Pro Tools, but make sure in your Preferences you set up "Automatically Copy Files on Import" and "Convert to session file type" on your Processing tab.

@@Chicagoshaderoom Unfortunately I was asking on behalf of my friend who uses Pro Tools (I'm a Cubase guy) He did figure it out eventually, but I don't know what he did. I remember we discussed updating quicktime, we discussed whether or not you need to run Pro-Tools as an administrator, and giving up on the laptop and switching over to a tower. That's all I see in my notes, maybe it'll help? Good luck!
