Some sound engineers suggested the two mics at top head with a choice of a condenser and a dynamic mic to take the blend of them but at this genre i think is unessesary useless action to record that way but it's engineer choice at all as and in some studios record bass drum with hole mic, beater mic , a condenser mic at 1 m long front of bass drum and a kick trigger simultanuisly to have all the options to keep any take they like! Talking for Greyson's drumming..oh this kid is amazing and also very good character and this is very important a musician making goals and targets became a pro too early i think just with his decisions where to give attention!!
Better to have the recorded mics and not use them instead of not having them at all :)

Ugh. This needs to be said. I thought you’d be the one to finally do it Craig. This is the most overrated drummer on social media. His touch and sound sucks. He constantly bashes the drums. His time is sloppy and amateur feeling. There are a ton of truly excellent, masterful jazz drummers out there for people to follow and learn from. This guy is not it. He needs years of more concentrated practice.
