Totally hear you on the endless Record, Brew, Edit, Repeat. It's good to hear you've taken a break, and honestly from listening to this perhaps extending that break wouldn't be a bad idea. Come back when the thought of doing this whole gig is fun again. Hang in there Sarah!
Brewtube burnout is real. And I can’t even imagine what it’s like having everything else you were working on layered on top. Sending good vibes! Hobbies have to be fun, otherwise it’s time for a new hobby!
Good luck, best wishes! I brewed my first beer in about 2 years a few weeks ago and it was the best I'd made for a LONG time. Maybe sometimes coming back fresh actually helps :)
Hi Madam Flora, I am one of those new subscribers from over the summer. Your content is something I love because you don't make standard beer and always have these awesome recipes that are amazing to try. Keep making your beers that you like, and don't worry about the break. I took a break for nearly a year because I was blessed with a new daughter. But I'm slowly getting back into it and its awesome because I'm brewing beers I want to brew and try. For instance, I am currently doing a NEIPA clone of a beer called "Electric Jellyfish" by Pint House Pizza. Because the beer was amazing when I had it while visiting Austin. Not many places where I'm at serve that beer at all, so I'm trying to clone it to the best of my ability. So far, I have had two bad batches. The first bad batch, got infected. The second batch, may be bad but I'm not certain yet. Its the first time I've ever used Kveik yeast and I'm learning so much. What I'm trying to say is: the passion for the hobby you once had will come back. Just try anything you want in your brew: experiment with lager yeast with a belgium style beer...idk, something wild. And don't worry about shooting more videos until you landed a recipe you are wanting to share with the world. RDWHAHB!
I'm so glad to see you back! Just take things at your own pace. Life can get in the way, but this hobby is therapeutic for me. I went 4 months without brewing and decided to brew 3 five gallon batches in 1 weekend! It felt so satisfying to pull that off. I'm not saying brew a ton of beer to get yourself back into it, but you will be fine. I've seen a bunch of your videos, and you are quite a talented brewer. Cheers!
Best of luck to you. I was on a trip to Chicago and stopped at Pilot Project to try your beer. It was great. Take your time. I hope you can get back to the joy of brewing.
I hear you - Raucous Rabbit Brewery started in March 2020 - yes you guessed it timing was the worst. And I only wanted to supply a few local outlets that went out of business. You have been an inspiration, but like you I am now brewing for friends. But I love your information as I continually strive for new brews.
I burned out in 2022 and 2023 and I've not much going on, I can't Imagine what you felt like. My New years resolution is to get back into brewing, I really miss it!
Seems like you're being way too hard on yourself. It's all chill mate. And by the way.. your beer could never suck. even if you tried your hardest to make it suck! Cheers 🍻
You have to take care of head before all else, you did the right thing. I work like 80 hours a week as an executive chef at a busy restaurant in Las Vegas, and with a 3 year old, it feels impossible to brew anymore, so I understand where you’re coming from. I bought clawhammers system almost a year ago, and it’s been sitting around all shiny and brand new. Last week I finally made myself brew, and it’s the best thing I’ve done for myself in a very long time. Can’t wait to see you happy brewing again. Cheers!
Props to you to recognizing when you need to disconnect. I have always thought of doing a brewtube channel but I don't know if I could keep up with the videos. On another note have always wanted to open a small brewery but when your hobby becomes a job it is no longer a hobby. So I admire your honesty and hope all the best for you. Keep it fun and real cause that is why we are here! I always told my daughter playing sports, when it stops being fun, don't play anymore. Hope to see you brewing again!
Hey Flora, thank you for the video. I hope that you'll find your way, that you don't get into these struggles again. These are problems that every person in one way or another has to deal with. Best wishes from Germany
So glad to see you back I’ve really missed your vlogs please don’t be afraid to do your UA-cam brews just do what you love to do and we’ll all be here to enjoy the ride 😊❤️❤️❤️
Only watched 3.5 mins in and felt awful for you. I am in the UK and have followed for ages. I love all you have done and am so sorry you are where you are. Take care. We love you..❤
I hope you're starting to feel better Sarah, I'm Autistic and I've had to make a similarly major adjustment recently so I know how bad it can be. Sending love from Australia and thank you for helping me get back into brewing too!
Brewing is a labor of love and if you're not loving it or having a hard time, it's fine to step back. If it wasn't for you, I might not be brewing today. You're such an inspiration. Do what you need for yourself. I'll still be here when you're ready to come back
I’ve been burned out myself a bit of making beer, and whenever I would make beer I would give some away to customers who couldn’t afford craft beer or to any customer really, and recently they started asking me when my next batch would be coming out because they really miss my beer and it really lit my fire to brew beer again so this Sunday I’m going to be brewing again,so don’t give up Flora 💪🏻
I have ADHD too and know all to well about the time blindness. Hang in there and only come back when you’re ready and it’s going to be fun for you and not a chore!
I once went almost 3 months without brewing anything. Mostly because I was on medication where it said not to consume alcohol. Once I was better, I brewed a beer and I didn’t forget how. You never forget once you learn how.
Sending you love and continued success at whatever you end up doing, whenever you do it. Looking forward to seeing you back. We all know you'll smash it!
I have faith that it's like riding a bike! I believe it's gonna be great. Glad you are listening to yourself and taking care. Wishing you all the best!
As a UA-camr who hasn't put out a video in about 3 yrs., I totally understand the burnout. Spending eight hours editing a 20-minute video where you're the videographer, editor, lighting tech, sound tech, the everything else tech, the idea person, and the "star" of the show, it can wear a person down. Do what you love.
I’ve been there with the burnout. I just learnt to say no to things now. Although definitely feeling it creeping up with the podcast and trying to edit all my brewing videos from over the summer.
I stop brewing every year about Memorial Day through mid-September due to many other life things happening that I don't want to miss and there is the heat. Don't feel bad about it!
Hello Sarah. It has been a while. But people that really matter are patient. Just remember that you love brewing beer. If it sucks just laugh about it, throw it away and try it again another day. It's not open heart surgery where you can't make a mistake. I will see another video when I see another video. In the mean time take care. Greetings from The Netherlands.
I really know the feeling, of planning to do something but then suddenly fearing it will go wrong, which gets even worse if you promised some people beer that you have not already brewed.
As a fellow ADHD person, the need to create so that we can have a little sip of serotonin can be overwhelming. And we beat ourselves up when we feel that we’re not engaged enough. My advice is to just take it a day at a time. Maybe instead of planning out a massive brew day where you must must must create magic, just make a single 1-2 gallon recipe that you could mash in your sleep. Bottle carb it. Or make a simple cider from some store bought apple juice, sugar and spices. Just something that can help you assure yourself that “I am in control.”
Mental health trumps all. This subject is still taboo even though its apparent that its a crisis right now. Thank you for this. But I'll get off my soap box now.
You know you have a supportive fan base who don't just care about your content, but you too. We wouldn't want you burning out for our benefit. I think I can speak for all of us when I say we'd all rather you were happy and healthy than meeting an arbitrary content target (and honestly, I'd question the loyalty of any fan who said otherwise). There's no rush, we'll be happy seeing you all the same!
I think we are way passed just brewing videos. There are loads of brewing channels. You have made a community because of your personality. Do something you enjoy. Go around meeting other small brewing folk, interviews of how they started and taste tests ect. Good luck.
I experienced something similar in 2020 and I took a year off before I started making videos again. I was already burned out in 2020 and on June 14th, 2020, my dad passed away. That was like the icing on the cake so I ended up taking a year off from making videos. I ended up making videos again when I got bored.
You gotta make time for yourself, if you burn the candle at both ends you end up with burnt hands. Just look after yourself first and the rest will follow 🍻
I have a few thoughts. 1. Anything causing panic attacks needs to stop. 2. I need a therapist that says brew more. 3. Welcome to burnout. Ima teacher and covid/zoom killed me. 4. I used to have more energy than time. Now I have more time than energy, but I have the same amount of time.
As many others have said, just brew. My issues are different, but the therapy is the same. Make beer! 🍺🍻 And make sure you're eating. Stress is a massive appetite suppressant, so make sure you're diet's good and you're eating enough.
God bless your time of rest! I'm a video editor and home brewer. Your work is solid. Take some time to reflect on direction to get you where you want to go. Hugs and smiles!
Just brew. No pressure to make content. When you’re ready, rock n roll. If that doesn’t happen, no sweat. Relax and have a Homebrew.

Good to see you back. Have a little fun brewing. It's a hobby, if it stops being fun there's no point in doing it. Have a nice brew.
You are awesome! Keep yourself good first, everything else is secondary.

I always loved your videos. Good luck with everything. I wish I could try your home brew one day.
Best wishes Flora, just putting a video on youtube takes great strength and this comeback video exhibited that in gallons !! Go for it, you got it !!!

You are an inspiration to new brewers, you are open, honest and a beautiful person. Just go with your heart, do what is good for Flora. xxxx

Looking forward to what you decide to brew! As a creator myself I understand the time and effort involved, on top of work and growing family!

Do this for as long as you love it! People who like your content will enjoy it whenever it’s out! ❤❤❤
Thanks for the update. Stay true to what you love, Flora. Commercializing can be the wrong path indeed, good luck going on forward 👍
Maybe look into outsourcing the stuff you don't enjoy/look forward to, like maybe the editing?
Love from Portugal. Take care of yourself, and know we’re all with you.

Mental health trumps all. This subject is still taboo even though its apparent that its a crisis right now. Thank you for this. But I'll get off my soap box now.
Sometimes I take a break from making beer. It may be 6 months or longer. Really helps me get perspective, and work on some experimental brews.
Take care of yourself first. Enjoy the chaos! Thanks for the update.
Welcome back!!

It's hard balancing life's demands, and it's even harder if you're trying to share it with others. Take care of yourself!
I've been working 24/7 last 3 years, it takes a toll. Just start again slowly.
Good to see you!
As many others have said, just brew. My issues are different, but the therapy is the same. Make beer! 🍺🍻
And make sure you're eating. Stress is a massive appetite suppressant, so make sure you're diet's good and you're eating enough.

Welcome Back !
Good luck
Rest Be Well. Make fun Beer. ❤❤❤
When you need time off take it. Recharge get back when "you" want to we will be here.
The market is highly saturated in Washington
If she is overwhelmed now, she will be when and if she opens a brewery
Brew Beer …. It’s Good for You 😊
Take care! ❤🙂
Cleaning the house is not fun for me, but for some reason, I have to do it.
First and foremost look after yourself and enjoy doing what you do best and remember it's for yourself and nobody else as we all enjoy the content.
Relax and brew for yourself.
God bless your time of rest! I'm a video editor and home brewer. Your work is solid. Take some time to reflect on direction to get you where you want to go. Hugs and smiles!
