- Hey guys, my name is Vivien Makhoul and I am a first year medical student in the United States :) Come along with me for this week of shenanigans!
every week is pretty busy in medical school, but this week was exceptionally busy. we crammed, we shadowed, and we stabbed ourselves… for educational purposes of course

Not sure if they taught you this haha but as a medical technologist (us forgotten souls of the lab lol), a good blood smear should appear, ideally, close to the shape of a feather. In the hematology lab, the slides are also stained to differentiate the cells better. :) No worries, I still have a hard time with them!
oh thanks for this!! our only instruction was that yt clip lolll and they were stained, i think i did mine too rapidly (out of excitement)
